As the title says, my friends and i have been playing Curse of Strahd (i'm DM'ing), and all of the players made their characters on DNDBeyond. I've bought tons of resources on the website and we've never ran into an issue up until today. When both my player and I tried to access his character sheet it gives us a 403 Forbidden error, and what's weirder is when i go into another players sheet in the campaign and click on the campaign name to see all characters involved, i see all the players sheets except his. It doesn't even show up :(
Has anyone ran into this/does anyone know what might be happening?

That character sheet also seems as if it is set to private.
If it was set to private, would it be possible to un-private it without actually accessing the sheet? or is that something where the error would need to be resolved first?
You change characters Public/Private status in the Home section of the character editor. So you need to be able to edit the character - or get the player to do it.

The character had been finished and been getting played for months prior to this.
there is no home brew involved with this character except for a single custom item that is a shield + 1 and I made a note regarding its effect. Is there really a chance a custom item broke the sheet?
other than that, he was an Oath of Glory Loxodon Paladin and they had just hit level 7 iirc.
I'm having the same issue. I am the DM trying to view a player's character sheet. I have never had a problem doing so since the player added their character sheet to the campaign at 1st level nearly a year ago now. All of a sudden the other day I get this 403 message:
Error Code
aeb220e21ed341b98f2f12e76509a7a6
Version
5.14.2
Please note that the "Error Code" change every time I refresh the page or try to open the sheet in a new tab. The error has persisted for several days now, on both my phone and pc. As for as I know the player keeps their sheet private. Though this has never been an issue in all the years we've used DnDBeyond.
Ask your player if they are unable to view their character's sheet, and if they had a subscription that expired. The 403 error is most commonly caused by someone's subscription expiring, which locks their characters if they now have over the limit of 6 (they'll need to delete characters until they're below the limit.)

Thanks! That must be it.
I recall now that the player said it was "nearly" time to resubscribe. That must be it. I bet they have more characters sheets than a free account. Given that the player had lost, read: had to search for, a sheet for another character in a different campaign.

Does the player's username contain any spaces or special characters? Does the character's name contain special characters?

No special characters :/
Please post a link to the character sheets in question so someone can look into it for you.

You can edit the character from the campaign page: https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-campaigns
Either that character sheet has some seriously I’ll constructed Homebrew, or the player hasn’t finished the character yet.

That was the problem. Thanks again naruhoodie!
I don't have any subscription and I'm getting this error, although I don't get it in an incognito tab
