The TO HIT modifier displayed for the Green-Flame Blade cantrip appears to be calculated using the spell attack modifier when it should be using your melee weapon attack modifier.
Personally, I don't think it should be showing in the attacks section at all actually, as Green-Flame Blade augments an existing melee weapon attack, rather than being an attack in it's own right.
I'll confer with other moderators and the dev team.
Hmm, I have selected GFB on my character as a spell Attack and didn't notice a + to hit at all. Double checking my sheet it does not show as a traditional attack but a spell attack.
You are using a melee attack as the material component of the spell. So melee spell modifiers to attack but get to use spellcasing modifier for bonus damagesecond target.
Thanks. I agree. Green-Flame Blade is not a spell attack and as such should not appear in the attacks section. I notice this morning that it has already been removed from the section.
I have always assumed that Green Flame Blade uses the Spell Attack Modifier when it is being used. Same as what is seen in DnD Beyond but recently someone referred me to Sage Advice where Mike Mearls indicated otherwise:
unfortunately, there is a known issue currently with Green-flame Blade and Booming Blade spells.
They have to be flagged in the system as spells that require an attack roll, so that feats will interact correctly with them, however this causes them to be displayed in the character sheet as a spell attack.
There is a fix being worked on, but I am told it is a fairly complex issue.
In the character sheet, the Booming Blade and Green-flame Blade cantrips list an attack bonus that uses your Spellcasting ability. The cantrips have you make a melee attack with a melee weapon, not a melee spell attack.
Given that you might have different attack bonuses depending on the weapon, the cantrips simply shouldn't list an attack bonus.

Same as TipsyMongoose, GFB and BB are still showing NIL in the to hit bonus column.
From what I gather it is supposed to be your proficiency bonus (if proficient with the weapon) and the ability mod of the weapon?
So for me a lvl 3 EK with +2 str its going to be the usual +4 to hit. As well as the usual +2 damage from Duelist fighting style. Is this correct???
EDIT: is it arranged this way because the cantrip tells us to then make a melee attack? Therefor the cantrip is "FREE" but as a result you then perform the melee attack as per usual? Sortah makes sense.... IDK lol

In my case I use Shillelagh as my "default" attack, and add damage from GFB when used.

Thanks Stormknight. I didn't realize it was already address but glad it is being worked on.
Whenever I export my character to PDF, GFB shows up alongside the text "(Ranged +5)" in the spells page (3rd page).
Additionally, I see some "null" values showing up on the first page for what appears to be GFB...

Is this ever going to be fixed? It's been half a year and the to-hit bonus is still wrong for booming blade and green flame blade.
