I'm having issues accessing character races, subclasses and backgrounds apart from the basic rules/player's handbook in my character creator tool. I have characters in two campaigns by friends who own all the sourcebooks, and my account is a master subscribtion. I can access all sourcebooks otherwise but not in the character creator. I didn't think much of it but apparently others can access these things despite not owning any sourcebooks themselves? Not sure if I'm supposed to have access to this but if so, is something wrong with my account? Thanks!
In your own character builder you will have access only for content that you have bought.
You can have access to shared content within a campaing, so what you can do is start a campaing with those friends who have the sourcebooks bought and create your characters there.
Thank you for clarifying this! I'm aware that I don't have access to content through my subscription, but I have been having issues with a character that I joined a campaign with (run by someone who has purchased all the content) and trying to edit that character after joining I still couldn't access additional races and backgrounds. In the end we worked around it by them creating my character and me then 'claiming' the unassigned character in the campaign, but it'd be nice if I could just edit the character I'd joined with in the first place. I'm probably still missing something here, but I'm slowly buying the sourcebooks as they become affordable to me so it might just solve itself over time. Thanks for the help!
A subscription also does not mean that everything is always automatically shared as soon as you join a campaign either. If you have a Master Toer subscription, you have to go back o your “My Campaigns” section and intentionally click “Activate Content Sharing” for each campaign you have joined, limitEd to 5 campaigns per subscription.
