So on Chrome I keep getting the "Verify You're a Human" page where it instructs you to click and hold... and while at first it let me pass now it just keeps looping. It's been doing that for a few weeks now. It does NOT happen on Edge. It also happens on Chrome on my laptop which is synced with my desktop instance of Chrome.
Do you have any extensions that might be interfering? Beyond20, AboveVTT, ad-blockers, VPNs, etc. These are often the cause of such issues; an easy way to test is to check whether the behavior occurs in an Incognito browsing session. Otherwise, manually disabling all extensions and then re-enabling one-by-one will help find the culprit. (I believe in the past that Beyond20 has frequently been a cause of this particular issue.)
Ah, apologies! Yes, now I've found the Discord thread.
Have you attempted reverting the version of Chrome to see whether it wasn't the recent update? (It's strange, because this is the only reported case so far; a widespread Chrome issue would likely have generated more user reports of the same behavior.)
In addition, is there potentially any local anti-virus software or a firewall that might be affecting this page? I confess that I'm not sure why any such thing would affect Chrome and not Edge, I'm only offering any troubleshooting steps I can think of!
I did import a lot of stuff to FoundryVTT a while back and maybe that put me on some sort of blacklist... but I would think it would affect both Edge and Chrome and not just Chrome (though Chrome is what I used to do the imports via VTA).
I cannot speak with certainty whether that automated import to FoundryVTT was the cause of the problem, but it's certainly possible. Particularly since, according to the Terms of Service which are linked in the bottom right of every page on D&D Beyond:
You agree not to:
[...] modify, publish, transmit, reproduce, scrape, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, adapt, aggregate, sell, transfer or in any way exploit any of the content, in whole or in part,
Use any robot, spider, site search and/or retrieval application, or other device to scrape, extract, retrieve or index any portion of the content; [...]
You further agree:
[...] not use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Services for any purpose without our express written permission;
I've got this as well, but affects me on edge but not firefox (so far).
Following the advice of MellieDM I am customising stuff. For my Paladin's summoned (find steed) I have copied the monster block so I can rename it, modify hitpoints and put stat block entries for modified saves (Aura of Protection) and speed (Aura of Alacrity)
Currently these bonuses are not modelled in DDB so that they apply when a paladin "equips" their steed (ie is riding)
That breaches the do not copy rule, but I have never attempted to publish it and all I am doing is trying to mod things so that they reflect the actual ruleset. Will this activity be the cause of the lockouts? As per all the advice and tutorials on homebrew stuff we are told to copy existing items to see how it is done, so by definition to use the toolset as advised we are breaching the copy rule ... seems daft to then lock us out because of that.
I have two tickets open, one was marked closed so I opened a new one
what I would like from DDB staff is a FAQ forum article with the settings to be applied to edge with regards to cookies/java etc that are required to NOT trigger this lockout check, likewise any known issues/settings with anti virus that may be blocking it.
From the sound of it the previous person had imported data from DDB to a VTT, which is a much bigger no-no. It's hard to say if that was the actual cause of the issue, either.

Please deactivate all ad/popup blockers, browser extensions, or VPNs. One (or more) of those is sending repeated queries to DDB every time your page refreshes which is triggering DDB’s cybersecurity system to register you as a bot.
I am trying to log in from a smart tv browser and I keep getting this loop of holding the click to prove I’m human. What can I do, this was the best way to enjoy the Map feature but it doesn’t seem like ill be able to…
I am also experiencing this issue. The only browser extension I appear to have on Chrome is Google Docs Offline (which is built into the system, I think), and I don't have any adblockers or VPNs. The verification screen now either never stops loading or keeps asking me to retry.

<Hi Halfwing, you helped me in Discord with this issue a while back - CS was unhelpful when I submitted a ticket>
Yah, did all of that... still does it in incognito. Disabled all extensions and still does it as well.
Just updated to Windows 11 and hoped it would stop doing it but it still does.

Well, that definitely could be the case.

You just gotta keep doing it until it takes, could be 20-30 times.
