To whom it may concern, I'm wondering if I need to repurchase the core books, as in Players Handbook, DM Guide, and Monster Manual. I've purchased the Physical copies but now that I'm creating digital sheets, there's annoying little restrictions and I'm wondering if I have to purchase the digital versions as well? Is there a way to verify my purchases and get the content on D&D beyond? Thanks to anyone who can help!
At this time, all purchases on D&D Beyond are for content on D&D Beyond only. Unfortunately, there is not a way to unlock the digital content if you have purchased the books. We realize and understand the concerns over re-purchasing content, but the material in D&D Beyond is in a different format and platform.
Note that depending on how you want to use DDB, you may not need all the books here. One of the great options here is that you can buy elements of the books piecemeal if you don't need all the book's content. Those piecemeal purchases are tracked and reduce the cost of the book for you by the amount you've already spent, in case you decide later you need the whole book. So, for example, I have purchased the entire PHB, plus a race from Volo's and a subclass from SCAG.
If your whole group wants to move to DDB, your group can get a master tier subscription for one of you, buy the books your group needs access to, and turn on content sharing. Some groups have found that to be a good deal. Two caveats: in this setup, the content in the character builder section of the tools is only available for characters in the campaign with content sharing. Also, currently ALL content is shared. So if someone in the group has an adventure on DDB, all the players in the campaign can see it. This is expected to change sometime "soon"

Hi there, this question, and many others, are answered in the D&D Beyond site FAQ.
A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
Must have missed it in the FAQ, Thank you though!!
