Hello, I've been using beyond with little to no issue for around two years now. Today though I find myself unable to join a campaign with newly-created characters, even though I have some old ones in already.
Another thing to note is that it works fine with characters created a while ago(so, I can join the campaign with old characters just fine), but new ones just don't appear on the list of options when clicking on a campaign link, and there is no option to create a character upon joining.
Tried removing and remaking characters, unassigning old ones, levelling up and down- none of these seems to do anything. Any idea what might be happening here?
Edit: Link to the char sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/69760096/8V31wx - to note is that I couldn't create new characters by joining the campaign even before I made this, but at least I could join with new characters then.
I’ve seen a couple of reports of this lately. Please post links to the affected characters. You might also want to submit a support ticket (contact us link below); if you do, however, please be aware that support doesn’t work weekends. Also, please don’t submit multiple tickets; that only slows the system down more.
It's not exactly am elegant fix. But I got access to one of my players dndbeyond accounts. Invited them to join my campaign. And then when they went to join it they had the option to make a new character for the campaign, and I remade the ones I was going for that way. Hopefully with those characters unassigned the players can log in to their own accounts and claim the correct ones.
Seems like there must be a better way but I wanted it worked out quick for a session we have planned tonight so I think it technically worked. Fingers crossed.
Thanks, but damn, pretty bad timing with the support. About the character links, does posting them lower in the thread/editing the original post work, or should I dm? Sorry, first post on the forums, a bit new to this.
You can just post them in this thread. There are a few things that fellow forum members like myself can check for that way, and if a mod stops by they have access to more things on the sheet to figure out what is happening.
Created a new character early hours today (12/03/2022) and just came back now and no matter what I do I can't add them to a campaign created by the DM (they don't appear on the invite screen) but older characters I've made are there and available to select.

I've seen your charactersheet and I found you didn't finish to complete the choices in your char. It rest the skills you want to turn expertise and something else.
I spotted this issue yesterday when I tried to join a campaign with a new character - I actually got round it by copying the character and the copy immediately appeared in the "joinable" list. I then removed the original and renamed the copy to make things look nice and it has been ok (just finished off a one-shot by using Sneak attack psychic blades to destroy a Bulette - nice!).
Don't know if that helps with the diagnosis at all?

That's true, but as far as I'm aware that never was the requirement for joining a campaign.
I have the same issue. Unlimited character slots but I do only see the oldest 12 characters when trying to join. Anything newer than those 12 are not showing when I click the invitation link.
Looks like the '12 character limit' is also enforced on character slots and not just campaign slots.
Pretty sure it is a bug but it might just be related to server cache and I will try again tomorrow. New characters are younger than 24 hours so there is a chance that it is cache related.
So some of you have free accounts, others & I have subs. That's not the deciding factor.
I'm doing some testing creating characters, and the first one I made is able to Join a campaign. But that character was made using Randomize. Then I tried doing a Standard Build. That one isn't able to Join (yet? Maybe I need to fill out some details.) Then I did a Quick Build. I can Join with it.
Someone else mentioned they can Copy their character, and then the Copy is able to Join.
I wonder if it's somehow only working if the character is "generated" by the system in some fashion?
This points to characters created outside of a campaign by the Standard Build method in the Character Builder within the past few (however many?) days are unable to Join a campaign.
I guess see if you folks who made a very quick character can do a Quick Build version and have it work? Or Copy the one you made?

Free account for me.

I wish I'd seen this thread before posting mine, my bad. I'm on a free account, Proto is character 6.

Using a Quick Build allowed me to join the campaign
Tried to copy one of the newer characters and was able to join with the copy.
It seems newer characters created in a standard build don't show up, copies and quick builds do.
Confirming the workaround of copying a newly created character as well.
Master tier subscription so its definitely not tied to that.
