Bracers of Defense work just fine with Tortle - I just checked.

 I just created a level 1 Tortle Barbarian without armor and added Bracers of Defense and it still says 17 ac instead of 19. Yes it is equipped and attuned.

 Same (minus the barbarian part, not necessary).

IS there a reason why the Tortle's Natural Armor doesn't allow Bracers of Defense to work on them, but other races, such as the Lizardfolk can benefit from them? I mean, natural armor is not worn armor, no matter the species...

Just adding my voice to those indicating that this is still an issue. Based on statements here, I'm going to assume for the time being that the Bracers do, in fact, work on Tortles. 

 Popped up last night my tortle barb had to manually enter the bonus AC because it's still not fixed. 

My tortle artificer made created Bracers of Defense and then equipped and attuned them.... no change in Armor Class.

Basically this is a bug, the feature was set up incorrectly.

It's been 2 years since this was reported at minimum and has been flagged as a bug and reported to devs by the mods.

What progress has been made? It's not a free race and we have paid for something that isn't working correctly. While I do understand devs are busy, at some point the patience is going to get low. Bugs with paid things should have a reasonably high priority. We can make ad hoc corrections but the homebrew system actually doesn't make this an easy thing, and just going with on-sheet overrides is problematic when concerning magic items.

This really does need to be fixed. I'm normally happy to defend D&D Beyond about some things, but this one I can't defend and it's frankly very disappointing.

Just wanted to chime in here stating that one of my player's barbarian Tortle character is having the Bracers of Defense stack with Unarmored Defense and NOT with Tortle natural armor even though stacking with natural armor will give it a higher AC (should be 19).

If you have the AC window open and click the Bracers on and off you can see how it's calculating the AC.

Same here, not getting +2 AC when equipped and attuned to tortle

Just ran into this bug myself. Tortle Monk/Barbarian. Adding Bracers of Defense does nothing to AC.
