So I have a campaign about to start and like a month ago I made a homebrew item and added it to my players inventory, everything was fine. I had to change it recently to balance it a bit more and whenever I changed things on homebrewed items before I would have to delete from a characters inventory and re add it. So I tried that, but now I cant seem to find the homebrewed item at all to even add to my players inventory like before. Do I have to publish a homebrewed item to add it to my players inventory now? or am I missing something.

No, you don’t have to publish it. Double check two things:
