WotC is selling a bundle that includes physical and digital copies of the book. When you buy that bundle from WotC's shop, a redemption code will be included in the email of your receipt.
The physical books do not, have not, and likely will never come with codes for digital copies (unless it is a specially marked sealed product like the essentials kit was).

This.
The bundle of Physical/Digital combined is only in the official DnD Store online. Local game stores don’t sell these bundles.
If they advertise that they do then probably ask them to give a code.
Thanks for the explanation. I was hoping that they would help support local stores, but it looks like WotC doesn't want to share the wealth on this one.

There have been multiple discussion threads about why this would be difficult to do for a LGS.
Just came to this realisation as well. My local shop had difficulty getting the books, let alone the alt cover I wanted/desired. So they finally got it yesterday, and just got it in my hands. No code.
Regardless of intentions, they needed to communicate this in a better way so that it was clear that unless you buy it off their store, there's no digital code

It has been this way for years. Do they really need to communicate that they haven't changed this something every time they release a new book?
The bundle was advertised as a bundle and cost more than the book alone. People just assumed what they wanted and didn't even try to make sure they were right.

They've been telling people ever since the physical/digital bundle was announced earlier this year, I'm not sure how you could have missed it. There's been countless discussions on this board and multiple articles on the dndbeyond front page regarding how this was going to work for this initial test run.
As for when/if this will be rolled out to their distribution partners and through local brick and mortar stores, I take them saying test run as the first step in building out the process to offer bundles everywhere.

Some hope for change towards the future, which is always positive. As for how I missed it, I just did. It happens. Doesn't matter now, I've the book (The alt cover is stunning), and probably will pick up the digital copy at some point in the next few weeks.

People were asking because the terminology of their pitch for this was super unclear [REDACTED]
Like giving away digital codes with the purchase of a physical copy would be a huge get for the company in terms of PR and allow them to better bridge the gap between Digital and meat space gamers due to the segregation brought about by double purchasing which also undermines the value of D&D beyond as a service as compared to Roll20 where I'm not obligated to own a digital copy in order to create a character since I can edit the sheet directly.
I don't know if there was a mistake somewhere.
WOTC cost is offering Dragonlance physical copy with DND Beyond Code.
So I did the correct thing and went and bought it from my local game shoppe.
They physical copies there do not come with a DND Beyond code.
Was that a mistake on the part of the local shoppe?
Where the codes supposed to be supplied to the shoppes and handed out with purchase?
Was is supposed to be inside the book somewhere?
Any help would be appreciated
Robert
I'm in the same situation and have no idea where the D&D beyond code is with my physical copy.

I agree that it sucks though.
