I have been trying to purchase the Artificer class individually but am unable to do so, I have seen older threads regarding this issue that advise buying a subclass of artificer from Tasha's or Eberron but those options do not seem to be there anymore. Please can someone help, is it something I'm missing or is this just not available individually?

Those options are there under Tasha’s Cauldron: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/tashas-cauldron-of-everything). Scroll down until you see the Subclasses section in the à la carte menu and you will see that 4 out of the first 5 subclasses are all Artificer subclasses.
