I have multiple campaigns set up, some for my Players to join and some to collect NPCs that they meet in an encounter. I build these NPCs out using the regular character builder tool.
I have started a new campaign and added two characters (NPCs) to it already. I'm trying to add two more from my list of My Characters that I've already created. but very strangely, when I go to the link that says "Send players this invite link to have them join your campaign" and see my list of my own character, the two that I want to add ARE NOT VISIBLE! They aren't showing up in the list.
I've double checked and those two characters are not assigned to any other campaigns. I see all my other characters in the list. And I see those characters when I go to "My Characters" page.
What's going on? How can I assign these two characters to the campaign? Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure. It's possible they were in a different campaign and then i removed them from that campaign. Or they might never have been assigned...I can't remember. Is there a way to check or change the status? On the character page it doesn't say anything about them being linked or not linked to any campaign.

Based on your comment, I tested something, and it worked. I duplicated the characters and then was able to add them to the campaign. Strange workaround but it let me find them once they were duped.

Did you perhaps build the characters in a campaign and then either deactivate or delete that campaign with the characters still in there? That can lead to characters being stuck in limbo like you describe. If you have any deactivated campaigns then reactivate them and see if the characters are in there. If not then you might have completely deleted the campaign. If so then I think you’re going to have to duplicate those PCs.

Okay, good. What happened to the OG PCs?
This particular campaign is just a group of NPCs. I often create campaigns to put NPCs in for a specific encounter because unfortunately one of the big holes on the Encounter Builder is that you can't add NPCs as enemies for an encounter. I think it is possible that these 2 NPCs were in a different campaign i had created for a different encounter that never happened. So deleted that campaign (I think). So it does seem possible that is what left these character in limbo and unfindable.
