I have an ipad i’d like to use for DnD, but can’t see the characters when i get to the character select screen. Its model number is MD785LL/A version 11.2. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
Safari. Unfortunately, it’s being difficult upgrading, repeating the same message of asking if it can work uninstall everything and then reinstall it later, but it never does anything when i click continue. I’m not aware of any ad/popup blockers, browser extensions, or a VPN.
I know this is a bit off-topic, but if anyone is able to explain the uninstall then reinstall message I would be grateful. Thank you so far for your help.
Interesting. I too use Safari on iOS devices (mostly my phone) when on DDB. I don’t know anything about that uninstall/reinstall thing. I’ve never seen that before. My first recommendation is to take it to an Apple Store and ask them about it. If that’s not something you are willing to do or can do easily, the next thing I would suggest is to take a look at your settings for both Safari, and your OS, and see if anything there looks hinky. You can check both in the Settings app. (In case you don’t happen to know, you can check your OS Settings by opening the Settings app, clicking on your name at the top, and then scrolling down and click on that device. Safari has its own tab in the Settings app further down the list.) Of course, that might not be too helpful if you aren’t sure what you’re looking at. 🤔
💡 The only other thing I can possibly think of that might be an issue is if your iPad is too full. If it doesn’t have enough open memory, then it can’t run the download. In that case, you’ll have to free up the requisite amount of memory. Go to your iCloud settings (Settings app->Your Name at the Top->iCloud) and make sure that everything important that can be stored in the cloud is (photos, messages, files, etc.). If your cloud is full then I would personally spend the $0.99 for a month’s worth of additional storage, and then later download everything again and cancel the subscription (or don’t and just spend the $11.88/year it costs to keep it 💁♂️).
After uploading whatever you can to the cloud, then offload whatever apps you don’t really need or use. (In the Home Screen for your iPad where it has all the app icons, lo—ong tap one of them and then they’ll all start wiggling. Whatever has a minus sign on it is something you can either delete or offload. Just tap the minus sign, and then read and follow the prompts. Deleting an app removes everything, offloading keeps the saved data and just drops the app itself. Anything you absolutely don’t need and never use, delete it since it probably doesn’t have any data you’ll miss anyway, and it’ll free up more storage faster than just offloading. Once you’ve got enough free memory, then run your update and afterwards you should be able to redownload most if not all of your stuff again if you want to. Start with the stuff you use the most and work down from there, that way if you don’t have enough space left you will only not be able to redownload the stuff you don’t use that often anyway. Then you’ll just have to periodically swap out apps once in a while if you want to use those ones again.

What browser are you using? Are your iPad and browser fully updated? Are you running any ad/popup blockers, browser extensions, or a VPN?
