Will D&D Beyond support 2014 subclasses with 2024 classes? I want to use the 2024 barbarian with the 2014 Path of the Totem Warrior subclass.
Subclasses from supplement books, such as TCoE's Path of the Beast, appear in the 2024 barbarian subclass options, so I'm unsure why this would be an issue.
D&D Beyond supports feats and backgrounds with the same name in the 2024 and 2014 editions, i.e., Observant and Sailor, for the 2014 and 2024 classes. So, why not support the subclasses? Although Wild Heart and Totem Warrior have a similar flavor, they are different subclasses with distinct rules and features that work for both rule books.
The intention is that 2024 characters would use 2024 options if revised and 2014 options if not revised. The main reason why the limitation on subclasses exists, is because the 2014 classes and 2024 classes are separate class entities in the system. The older subclasses that do carry forward had to be implemented again pointing to the revised classes. As it is not the intention of the rules to support older versions of revised subclasses in the revised classes, they did not do so.

Understood. I hope D&D changes this decision. More variety would be fun. Until then, I'll have to get good at making the 2014 subclasses in the homebrew tool.

The Wild Heart subclass is the revised Totem Warrior subclass, and as such it replaces the Totem Warrior on the 2024 base class.
