I had canceled my subscription back when "force 2024 rules onto everyone" controversy weekend happened. Yet I am not limited to 6 character slots. In fact I am currently sitting at seven slots right now.

Did you used to pay monthly or annually? If annually, and your previous subscription hasn’t yet expired, then you still have it until it does.
