A couple of games ago my DM gave me a set of weighted gloves for my Monk. He said the stat was 2d6 + 4. I've tried adding them into the inventory, but all I can do is Gloves, Weighted, with no damage. I see in the main screen, where it says Unarmed Strike, that it still shows 1d6+6. Oh hey, it says Manage Custom. I can add Weighted Gloves....and there is a part that says Dice Count, so 2.... wait it keeps gong back to 1. How do I fix this? All I can do is go into the Unarmed Strike Customization and put 2d6 in the notes, but that's not ideal. So how do I fix this, I'm missing something here.
This should work (should). Go to the magic item homebrewer (https://www.dndbeyond.com/homebrew/creations/create-magic-item). There select to create an item from scratch. When the screen reloads give it a name, a descriptio, set the rarity as desired (or to unknown), and set the item type to wondrous. If it’s sposta require attunement then check that box too. Save it, and then add the following modifier to it:
Right below that on the bottom left corner is a checkbox for “requires attunement.” If the gloves are only sposta work when attuned, keep it checked, otherwise uncheck it before you save the Modifier. Then resave the whole magic item again.
I've actually never Homebrewed, I just can't seem to figure it out. At this point I can just print to PDF, then change the PDF before printing. Kinda seems ridiculous to do that each time though.

So don’t print it then. I just explained everything you need to do to create the item. There’s nothing else needed that I didn’t explain other than the simple process of adding it to your character sheet. Here, I’ll even make it easier for you.
(I even left in my mistakes and my correcting them to show it happens to everyone, even someone super used to the homebrewer, and how easy they are to correct.)
PS- That video is uncut, I was going slowly on purpose, and I even did it on my cell phone, and it’s still only 2:38 long.
Took me a while, but I got it. But now the numbers are weird. So the Unarmed Strike and Flurry of Blows are 1d6+4, right? When I add this now, those change to 2d6+8, but then the Bonus Action for Unarmed Strike and Flurry goes to 2d6+10. Now I don't mind the bump-up, just going to pass this through the DM, I doubt he had that in mind. Thanks for the help regardless, I'll figure this out.
