I purchased the bundle thinking I would be able to dive much deeper into D&D, but it appears that the content is unavailable for download. All that I am seeing is content strictly through the site. I did read that my purchases would not come with a physical book, but it should have specified that the physical books would not be given AND the content would not be given electronically. if I would have known this I would not have purchased these items on the site and I would have just purchased the actual books. It's a $500 purchase!
My dilemma is this; internet access is now required for me to host/play a game beyond my current ability to host/play. I am currently deployed and I was fortunate enough to find other players. Alas, the internet overseas (in the sandy waterless beaches that I am currently stuck in) is unreliable at best. We often don't need internet to host/play a game, but as a larger, multiple session games continue, the more things a DM is required to research and prepare for. which is why I purchased the books the books in the first place. It seems that it is all for nothing, if I can't actually open, read, and search these books without internet.
While I am relatively new to D&D, I am aware that the game existed long before the internet. So, internet should not be a requirement to view/use content, especially If I have purchased that content. The idea of not being able to actually have what you purchase, is actually kind of messed up.
If anyone can shed some light on this topic for me, it would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I am incorrect and this content is actually available somewhere that I have yet to see.
If you have an iOS or Android tablet or phone, you can get the D&D Beyond app and download content into the app. The app is newer than the site and is not full featured yet, so it won’t give you access to character sheets or the campaign features of the website. (You can, however, export character sheets as PDFs). But the app would give you access to the compendiums (the “books”) and to the listings of monsters, spells, etc. (Where you can sort and filter them).
If that’s not going to work for you, click on the “contact us link” at the very bottom of this page, and inquire about whether or not you can get a refund.
Thank you for the information. I sent a message to ask for the refund. hopefully I cant get refunded and I will just amazon order a few books instead of relying on the internet out here.
I have the same complaint. I knew the content was electronic and linked to the Character Creator, but I assumed that it would include a PDF of the book itself.
In fact the site says for Xanathar: "This purchase unlocks the entire contents of the book version for use with D&D Beyond, including the supplement in digital format in the game compendium and access to all the sourcebook's options in the searchable listings, character builder, and digital sheet." "The entire contents" of the book version includes the text, pictures and all as far as I am concerned. I like to read/browse in addition to using the content for character creation.
I have the app on my tablet and It is still downloading content after 30 minutes on a Gigbyte connection, the login has timed out and it now will not show me the login page. The app is _broken_ . I have never been able to use it. And now it's showing the login page but it refuses to acknowledge my Google account sign in.

They never include a downloadable PDF. Any PDF of a D&D product that you ever find has been illegally made.
As to the app, I’m not sure what to tell you. It works fine for me.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful. I honestly don’t know how other than to let you know about the forum that’s all about the compendium reader app. If you have already looked there I’m sorry.
