I tried to make a level 1 rogue and it gave me 12 hp before Con Mod was applied, with a d8 for HP the rogue should start with 8 before modifiers are added.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm new to DnD and was concerned I broke something when my DM was asking how my lvl 1 Genasi (water) Druid (14 CON) started with 14 HP instead of 10 (Is that right?).

If you select manual HP (instead of fixed) prior to selecting your class it doesn’t know what die type to use so it defaults to the highest possible which is the Barbarian’s d12. Reset your “rolled HP” from 12 to 8 and it will fix it for you.

Similar issue with a Hill Dwarf Monk, should be 12 max hp, 8 from monk, 1 from Dwarven Toughness, and 3 from 16 constitution.
Tried making a lvl 3 half-orc Monk, and it was giving me 12hp to start, with d6 hit dice instead of d8.
