Hi! The title kinda says it all, but I should be more specific. I made a "homebrew" monster - an Ancient Black Dracolich - that I'd like to add to an encounter. However, it doesn't pop up in adding creatures. Also, when viewing the statblock, I'm given an error saying there's "external links" on the sheet, so maybe that's part of it? I'm very confused on what's wrong.
Hello birdfurnace! At the bottom of the Ancient Black Dracolich page you linked there, does it say "Add to Collection"? If so, can you try selecting that button, and then refreshing the builder and trying again?
Instead i tried a new creation https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/2153293-skree Doesn't work either. Both are added to my collection but doesn't show up in the encounter builder. Reloading does nothing either.
I have a similar issue but am trying to add the adolescent brain from external homebrew. The list doesn't show anything when switched to 'homebrew only'.
But when I go to My Encounters (https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-encounters) and try to add them to a new encounter or an existing encounter, when I type in their names, there are "No Monsters Found".
This is a new issue. I can still add other monsters I have created to an encounter, but these two I created today aren't showing. I've tried using Safari and Brave (macOS) but have the same behavior on either.
I'm also having this problem again. I've added monsters and created my own, and neither will show in Encounter Tool. Only for recent additions though, older things are fine.
Same here. Nothing I have made within the past 24 hours is showing up in encounter builder. I've tried making new versions, reloading, etc. The monsters are in my collection, and I have tried filtering by "only homebrew" & "both"
Anybody found a solution for this? I've created a couple of homebrew monsters for a session later today but can't add them. The only workaround I can think of at the moment is to add placeholder monsters to the encounter and then run the homebrew ones on the side. Not ideal since I'll have to flip between screens, but can't think of an alternative.
New to D&D and wanting to DM, but my homebrew monsters are not appearing at all in the Create An Encounter for my oneshot.
I don’t know if it’s still the case, haven’t checked, but the “homebrew” filter for the encounter builder used to be buggy and not display anything, or only display some stuff. Try turning that off nd searching for your homebrew by name. Also double check to ensure that your monsters are actually in your homebrew “collection,” only stuff in your active collection will be available.

hey what's my proficiency bonus
I'm not sure that the encounter builder works with homebrew yet (I know it is still being worked on and haven't been following it).
Just to be sure post a link to the homebrew monster (it doesn't have to be published) so a mod can check it for problems.

While you are waiting for a mod to look at your homebrew, check the filter in the encounter builder. Is it set for either "only homebrew" or "both"?

I've tried filtering it to only, both, and none.

Having a similar issue. It's part of my collection but refuses to show up. Tried it first by editing a copy of something that already existed but only https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/2153165-copy_of_scout
Shows up instead of

I had the same issue. Switch browsers to Microsoft Edge then save the encounter and switch back to chrome.
This issue has come up for me. I've made two creatures which I can see and edit in My Homebrew Creations (https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-creations)

That's what I'm doing for our game. I just put a couple generic monsters in the lineup.
This seems like a bug. I, too, created two new homebrew monsters yesterday and neither are showing up in the encounter builder.
I'm having the same issue with homebrew monsters added to my collection. The new ones don't appear, the old homebrew monster I had, appear just fine
Yea - my older creations are also fine!
Has this been solved for others?

Yep, I'm able to add homebrew monsters right now
