With the new Eberron content out, is the only way to unlock the Artificer class by purchasing that book? Is it available if I just purchase the subclasses?
I've searched around but did not find an answer to this question.
Purchasing either Eberron: Rising from the Last War or Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron will unlock the Artificer class and the subclasses included in the book. All 3 (Alchemist, Battle Smith, Artillerist) are included in E:RftLW and 1/3 (Alchemist) is included in WGtE.
If you only wish to have the Artificer without purchasing an entire book, you can purchase the subclass(es) you desire and it will unlock the full class for you to use in the character builder like you suspected.
i have bought Tasha’s Cauldron of everything for the artificer class but I didn't unlock anything that the book says I can unlock. or does the digital purchase not come with all of the monsters spell subclasses etc.
Did you buy the compendium version ($19.99) or the full version ($29.99)? The former is basically a read-only version, it won't interact with the character builder.
That's why, then; the compendium-only version doesn't come with the character builder stuff. You'll need to buy at least one Artificer subclass from the book in order to have access to the class, which you can do under individual purchase options, but at this rate you might as well pay for the rest of the book to get all the other character build options too. Don't worry, the amount you already spent will be subtracted from the final total.

thank you I just read the "The Compendium Content bundle does not grant access to all the content's options in the rest of the toolset, such as the searchable listings, character builder, or digital sheet." part and realized but it's ok thank you for the help anyway. i bought the 19.99 because I thought the 29.99 sent me the book lol now I see
If all you really want is access to the Artificer class, then you can go to the marketplace page for Tasha's Guide (https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/tashas-cauldron-of-everything), scroll down to Subclasses - Individual Purchase Items, and purchase any of the following Artificer subclasses: Alchemist, Armorer, Artillerist, or Battle Smith.
Not that this will not give you access to all the magic items and spells from Tasha's for character creation, just that subclass and the Artificer class.

If they have a master subscription, and they've enabled content sharing for the campaign, then you should be able to do it by creating your character from the campaign page.
If that doesn't work for some reason, there's a bunch of ways to fix the problem, but it usually just works.
Does purchasing Eberron: Rising from the Last War still unlock the artificer class and its subclasses if I don't want to purchase Tasha’s Cauldron of everything? The product description for E:RftLW doesn't explicity indicate if they're included, whereas the description for TCoE does.
you can't use an artificer without a subclass (same goes for any class realy) if you want it you have to buy one of the books it has been published in.
or be in a campaign with content sharing enabled where someone has acces to the artificer
Can I play as an artificer if I only have the irl copy of TCoE?
The Artificer option will only be available in the D&D Beyond character builder if you own the digital book on D&D Beyond, or if the character is in a campaign with someone who owns that book and the campaign has content sharing turned on.

I have already purchased the hard copy of Tasha's Cauldron. Do I have to buy the e-version to use it in D&D Beyond?
How do you di this? I really don't see the point in buying the hard copy and an e-version.

My DM friend, who's campaign I am in, has Artificer unlocked. How do I take advantage of this so that I may create an Artificer?
