A hit to availability, especially on the weekend, with a core feature of this type of service platform seems to me like near worst case scenario. I managed to get access to my sheet for a few minutes about 1-2 hours ago before losing it again. So at least I can be reasonably assured the information itself hasn't been lost.
I'm sure they already plan on it, but on the off chance: after resolution, it might be a good time to take a look at change management, redundancy, and recovery policies/procedures for mission critical functions.
From a business continuity perspective: I'd be interested in the post-mortem coming out of this. I know I'll be making sure to export a pdf from now on (a feature I didn't even know about until today). If just to make sure myself and the rest of the party are covered so we can keep playing our game. Things happen, but every event should come with some follow on changes, hopefully this spurs some in DND Beyonds operations as well.
Yes, this. You sound like an IT person, or IT-adjacent. I'm sure they want this to be working again yesterday, and they did say earlier that they'd provide that post-mortem. In the end, it is very much in their interest to have the site (backend, really) 100% operational again as soon as they can do it. It's super unlikely that the admins are dragging their feet on this.
My main hope is that it's not a ransom-type situation. My brother works for a managed services company that just got hit by that. It sucks, and it's usually due to social engineering.
Thank you very much for your patience as we are currently experiencing issues with character sheets and creation. The team is working hard to resolve this issue! We are merging all related reports to this thread. The team does not need users to share their unique error codes at this time.

Agreed. Should have a static player sheet that is generated and emailed to you as a back up on an interval chosen by player. Also think an offline version in PDF format that can be accessed as a resource folder. They would be generated at closure or command to update. The. User would be able to go into a folder and grab the character sheet with a date that would be the last time used or very close. So hard to get everyone together to play with schedules, school, and work and the one day we can and big fail.

I can confirm that this is NOT a ransom situation. We have access to ALL the data. This is just concerning the authentication service that connects to our database. All data is still in the database.

Error Code: ac1a096cb0af40a88521748cad7294ca
I can access the pages but Character building and Character viewing are all sending back error messages 3:13 pm
My character sheet finally loaded. Don't know if it will last.
I try to use my characters, but I get an authentication error, I'm the only person who has access to this account.
I got this error, 9e9b11559b194b29983a321559f156a
Same with mine
No that's what you do on Government shutdowns.

To those still wondering, its an issue with their authentication service and it effects every user.
