The DM/Person Sharing must "create" the character or at least start one and then a player can go in and make changes. Really finicky system for something in development for as long as it has been.

That’s not true at all. The character just has to be created in that specific campaign.
If it was not working then whoever has content sharing activated for that campaign pro’ly just needs to turn content sharing off and back on again. Either that or you need to both re-sync your Account Entitlements (those get unsynced from time to time):
And “bruh,” clearly the last time this thread was used was clearly half a year ago. Clearly this isn’t a problem lots of people are having. Clearly…. Bruh.
You and whoever owns the content should double check that your account entitlement ms are in sync: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace). If that’s not the problem then whoever has activated content sharing should turn it off and back on again. Those two actions almost universally fix the issue. If they don’t then please post a link to your character sheet so a mod or staffer (not me) can look into it for you.
Despite being in a campaign with many others having access to the books, I don't. All the books are open for sharing, my characters are in the campaign, and nothing seems to be off- Except that I can't do anything with the content I supposedly have access to now.

Have you checked your entitlements? If that doesn't do it ask whoever is sharing content to do the same and then turn sharing off and back on.

Yep, checked entitlements- And again, it's working now. Not sure why it wasn't before.
The character sheet probably got stuck on an old data cache and had to update. If you “wake up” that character sheet by adding and removing a class level or something it would probably fix it.
I am a DM with 7 campaigns on the go, and only 5 have given me the option to share content. My two newest campaigns don't even have the option to share content. Is there a limit to the number of campaigns I can share content in?

Yes. The limit is 5 campaigns. Other people will have to activate content sharing for the other two campaigns.
I am having a similar issue, one member of our campaign has many of the books, the owner has content share enabled but I am the only other player in the campaign who seems unable to access the shared content.

thanks we fixed it
Is there any plan for solving this issue? Literally in every campaign I've taken part on DNDBeyond there has been content sharing problems.
ANSWER!

Ha ha ha... Bruh, don't you think I tried that first!
Maybe that is how it's supposed to work but clearly there is still an unresolved issue here that clearly multiple people are having.
The above worked for me so I came back here for the next person who has this problem as a possible solution to troubleshoot this unresolved issue.
Have a good weekend!

Nevermind, it seems to be fixed- It just wasn't working when I added characters into the campaign. I had to create unassigned characters to fix it.

Content sharing is broken and the only way to make it work at this time that I found was by creating unassigned characters with my master account.

I ended up getting it working.
Deleted all the characters, deleted campaign, recreated campaign, shared everything, then clocked reset link.
Shared that link and then it all worked again.
