whenever I search for any word in the search function for the forum, looking for specific threads or to see if a subject is already in the forum, even when I use very broad terms such as skill, feat, Eberron, leaving every other search parameter untouched, I come up with 0 results for my search.
For now as a temporary workaround, try using a web search engine and add dndbeyond to the criteria to make the search prefer hits from this site. It does a semi-decent forum search.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
I tried searching to see whether this is a known issue, but, well, the problem is that when I use the search forums function, I get zero results every time. It doesn't matter what I search for; each time, I get no results, even when I search for terms that I know should yield results.
Public Mod Note
(MellieDM):
Merged to compiled thread.
If I don't input any author name in the search (i.e. search for a word in the title or post) it tells me it searched for and didn't find any results, regardless of what I put for the search term.
It's probably confused by the null author name, and instead of ignoring author name in the search, it's looking for a null author and not finding it.
Sorry if this is a duplicate post, I can't search for others, since the search is broken.

Yep. Been a problem for a few weeks. There are other threads. But you'd know that if search was working...
Anyone reporting that the Advanced Search is not working?
Yep. It has been reported several times this month. Too bad you can't search for those threads and post there...
Just bumping this because it's really harshing my mellow.
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
When searching forums, my search text appears to not be recognized. It appears as "?" inside black diamonds. Example:
Search results for ''
The same thing happened to me when I was searching for yet another bug.
This is a reproducible error.

This is a known bug.

Yeah this started a few weeks ago. Anyone seen a response on it?
Only a “thank you we’re looking into it” about a week or more ago.

I have found that by refining my search it overcomes the issue. Things like adding or changing min posts or before/after dates.
