For some spells that have a required material spell cost (such as Revivify), the tooltip does not show either the asterisk next to the M (required material component with cost), or the required components (in Revivify's case, the 300 GP worth of diamonds). With some spells the material component cost is a major limiting factor, so if a player only looks at the tooltip they are missing vital info.
An example to see this would be to look at Revivify on the Life Domain Spells section of the Cleric Class Details.
I'm not sure what asterisk next to the M you are referring to. None of my spells with costly components have that.
When you look at a spell do you see the same things I see? For instance, look at the actual details page for Acid Arrow. Note how under “Components” they are listed as “V, S, M*” and down the bottom it says “* - (powdered rhubarb leaf and an adder’s stomach)” Do you see those asterisks on your device/browser? Notice how they do not appear on the tooltip popup?

The character sheet sidebar mentions the leaf and stomach. Everything is the way it's always been for me.
The spell page is the only place that has that asterisk. The tooltip popup (which is what Erekose was talking about) doesn't have an asterisk, and neither does the character sheet sidebar. On the character sheet, this is fine because it shows the material components in parentheses right there. But for the popup, there is no indication of what the components are, or whether they have a material cost. Which isn't what the asterisk signifies, since it's there for Acid Arrow and for Revivify, and only one of those spells can be cast using a spellcasting focus in place of the material components.
I think the assumption on the part of the devs is that if you're picking a spell to learn/prepare/cast, you'll be doing so from the character sheet, or the spell page, and not by looking at a tooltip. If you're looking at the tooltip and see that it has a material cost, but it isn't specified, its your duty as the person who might be casting that spell to find out what that material component is. I think it would also probably be relatively simple to add this line of information to the existing popups, but I could be wrong, or why wouldn't the info be there already?

The OP specifically compared the actual details page for the spell against the tooltip popup with a cited example location of “the Life Domain Spells section of the Cleric Class Details [page].” You know how you can tell? Simply by reading their post. (I took the liberty of linking it for your convenience.)
I also specifically mentioned both the tooltip popup (one of which I had also places for your convenience, [although admittedly for a different spell*]) and the spell's details page (an example of which you could also readily access through that very same tooltip that I had conveniently placed for you). You know how you can tell? Simply by reading the very same post of mine that you just quoted.
Since neither the OP nor I mentioned the character sheet at all, I have to ask: Why the heck are you bringing up the character sheet sidebar?!? What does that have to do with anything related to the current topic of conversation? At least this inquiring mind wants to know.
*I had specifically chosen a different spell than the OP’s example of Revivify for use to make the following point for the OP.

Correct. The only thing those asterisks do is indicate that the great big M at the top of the thing and the little tiny sentence all the way down at the bottom of the thing are referring to one another. Just like the one I placed after the phrase “although admittedly for a different spell” in the middle of my second paragraph of this post indicates that that there is a connection between that and the thoughts expressed after the asterisk at the beginning of the fourth paragraph of this post beginning “I had specifically chosen a different spell....”
I think it would also probably be relatively simple to add this line of information to the existing popups, but I could be wrong, or why wouldn't the info be there already?
Yep, exactly! Also, sorry for the late response, got busy and didn't check the forums for a while.
