I'm working on homebrew item's and when I test them the stats aren't updating right away! It's taking a half hour or more for them to update! Anyone else having this problem?
So I made a race etc. but I edited it and made some changes to it, saved it and when I go to my character sheet the changed data is still there, even after I deleted and remade my character. how do I fix this without having to remake the race?
Edit: Ok so it just takes a few min to take effect I guess, BTW, is it possible to custom build your own language and make it part of your race language options cos I don't see any option to do that.
So, you cannot create a custom language that you can save to be added to any character, but if you go onto your character sheet and click the proficiencies and languages box you'll get a popup on the right side of your screen. At the top of that you'll see "add new proficiencies" click that drop down and select custom language. You'll be able to name it whatever you'd like. You'll have to do this manually for any character you want to give that language to, but it will show up on your character sheet just the way you set it up.
Hello, I'm trying to create a work around for one of my players. He is a Mark of Warding Dwarf artificer, and he wants access to Armor of Agathys. I know that the DNDBeyond team is working on a solution. In the meantime, I was planning on just creating a custom copy of Armor of Agathys that artificers could access, but the homebrew spell isn't showing up on this spellsheet.
I have content sharing enabled. I have the spell accessible to artificers, and his character sheet has access to my homebrew content. I'm not sure what the problem is.
I made a homebrew subrace for human, and one of my characters is using it in my campaign.
I tried changing it to work better with her play style, but even after I save all changes, it seems to still use the old version, I even tried deleting some features to see if it effects the character sheet, it seems it doesn't.
Re-save the feature, then re-save the whole race. Then just be patient. Some updates are taking longer than others to push through to the character sheet.
Ya I am having the same problem. Everything is set up properly but the homebrew spells just won't show up in the spell list. I have tried everything but it doesn't like to work with an already existing campaign for some reason.
can confirm that homebrew is enabled in the character options, i've added the subclass to my homebrew collection, and my character is of sufficient level to be selecting their subclass (Fighter 3 in this case).
I have created a spell 'Earth Strike' adapted from 'Frostbite'. Some of the features for it have changed succesfully but for it won't update any longer for my characters. I have saved and refreshed multiple times but it is still stuck on the character's selection screen as an older version.
Since the big background update, I've been having an issue where changes I make to homebrew aren't propagating out to character sheets (at least for awhile--eventually they show up, but I can't figure out what I'm doing on my end to eventually make that happen other than just needing some time to pass).
First encountered this building a subclass--was playing with some options on a Monk Subclass (https://www.dndbeyond.com/subclasses/461253-way-of-the-animal-styles) and tried having a test character with this subclass so I could see how features and actions would show up on a character sheet, and... while I'd see updates looking at the subclass in My Homebrew Collection, I'd see an older version on the character sheet. Tried saving the changes a bunch, tried de-selecting and re-selecting the subclass on the character, tried fully deleting the character and building a new character with the subclass, and it'd still pull the older version of the subclass. And then sometimes it'd eventually update. But... I had to wait 15 minutes or something? Which when you're editing, is a frustratingly long time to see if what you're trying actually worked. Enough so that I gave up working on the subclass for awhile as a result.
Right now, I'm experiencing a similar issue--I made a magic ring (https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/1731781-ring-of-thorns) that adds Thorn Whip to the wearer's spell list, and added it to a player in my champaign. Then, decided I wanted to have it also add Spike Growth, so... added that to the item, and also decided to change the name from Thorn Ring to Ring of Thorns. Removed Thorn Ring from the player's sheet, but when I search for Ring of Thorns in Manage Equipment... only the older Thorn Ring shows up, with it's old name and spell list and description.
Anyway, in the ten minutes it took to write this up, the change finally propagated over to the character sheet, which... is good, but still frustrating that it takes awhile for the character sheet version of Homebrew to eventually match up to the newer version I can see in My Homebrew Collection. Is there a reason for this, or some way I can force a character sheet to pull the updated version of Homebrew?
Thanks!

Thank you, for the info.
Yes, same here. If this is by design some sort of clarification when you update a homebrew creation would be nice.
Sometimes it happens right away, once or twice I had to wait overnight.

Does he have homebrew turned on for his character?
Otherwise I have seen reports about homebrew not showing up that seem to be a bug.

I'm having this issue too.

they're showing up now, without me doing anything further, but it was maybe half an hour of faff and searching forum posts before replying above.
Is there a delay between adding something to your collection and it being available in the character creator?
I've ticked the home brew option when creating the character and the background shows in my home brew collection.
Am I missing something?
Nevermind, they're there now

To update, it seems it just needed time to resync. About an hour later and all seems well.
