Hello. I was given a Breastplate of Lightning Resistance, +1. Only issue is I could not find it on dndbeyond, only the base Breastplate of Lightning Resistance. I tried to make it myself but the homebrew does not have an option to add resistances to armors.
Did I happen to miss something? Is manually tracking it my only option?
Go to create a new homebrew item. Duplicate "Armor of Lightning Resistance, Breastplate". Rename it to whatever you want. Then save it.
Add a modifier: Modifier Type: Bonus Modifier Subtype: Armor Class Fixed Value: 1 Leave the other fields blank. This makes it have the +1 effect.
Save the modifier and then save the item.
If you can't duplicate the item and have to start from scratch - add in the modifier: Modifier Type: Resistance Modifier Subtype: Lightning Leave the other fields blank.

The homebrew does have the capacity to add resistance to Armor. You can do this one of two ways:
You can either start with Breastplate of Lightning resistance and add the following modifier for the +1:
Modifier: Bonus
Subtype: AC
Fixed Value: 1
Or you can start with a Breastplate, +1 and add resistance with the following modifier:
Modifier: Resistance
Subtype: Lightning
You will then need to also check off “requires Attunement”
After you save the Modifier you must also then re-save the whole magicitem.
Once the item has been equipped to the character, it will also have to be attuned or your character will not get the bonus.
