Paladin, 11th level. Lay on hands=55. Trying to use all of it, I have to click the "-" button 55 times! Now, if I were 20th level, trying to heal 100hp... yup. 100 times clicking the sheet.
That’s because Paladins have absolute control over how many HP they restore in any given use. Most Paladin Players rarely ever restore more than 1-5 HP at a time with Lay on Hands. It is commonly most often used as a means to o pick up a party member who has fallen unconscious during a combat encounter. Under that circumstance, 1 HP is as good as 10 since most attacks that PC the would face would do that much damage anyway.
So while an 11th level Paladin could choose to restore all 55 HP in one shot, it is often better to have 55 chances for o restore 1 HP.
I’m not saying that it’s a bad item to have a more versatile system than what we have, but if the choice is between restoring 55 HP once, or 1 HP 55 to iMessage, most player would rather have the latter. After all, software limitations are a consideration in these matters.
