Can somebody help, did I miss some option I need to tick in? I cannot add Aura of Vitality to my clerics (lvl5) prepared spell list even tho Tashas Cauldron of Everything should have added it as possibitly if I understood it correctly.
On the “Home” tab of the character builder, the toggle next to “Optional Class Features” needs to be on (red, to the right). Then, on the “Class” tab, you have to view the sub tab for the options and check the box that adds those spells.
I'm trying to add Sunbeam, an optional spell, to my Cleric, but it doesn't show up. Strangely enough, Dawn shows up, even though it's also an optional spell. Under the Optional Features Manager in the Class tab, it doesn't have anything, not even Blessed Strike or the other options. I already enabled Optional Class Features in the Home tab. It only says:
Unlike the features in the Player’s Handbook, you don’t gain the features here automatically. Consulting with your DM, you decide whether to gain a feature in this section if you meet the level requirement noted in the feature’s description. These features can be selected separately from one another; you can use some, all, or none of them. You currently have no available optional class features for this class Unlock all official options in the Marketplace or create them for Homebrew Subclasses.
I know I bought Sunbeam, because I bought the PHB spell bundle. Is this particular spell bugged?
EDIT: Never mind, Dawn isn't an optional spell. None of the optional spells or features are appearing for me

So I asked about this in the bug megathread, but honestly it's just confusing. I used the example of Mind Sliver for Warlocks. The optional features shows Mind Sliver on the list for Warlocks, but even with the feature disabled it can be picked by that character. Why put it in the optional box if the box being disabled doesn't prevent it from being picked? It's not coming from another source since the cantrip is new to Tasha's.
In fact, I temporarily changed the level of the character to 20, and it found that every spell from the Additional Warlock Spells optional feature that has an asterisk is available even if the feature is disabled! I don't know if this applies to other classes, but if the book says these spells should only be added if the feature is enabled, then no spell on that list should be available unless the feature is enabled... (excluding stuff already in other books like the 4 melee/close range cantrips from the EE Companion)

Have you purchased Tasha’s?
No, because it doesn't matter. The class and spell in question aren't Tasha's. Optional Class Features can't be "bought" in Tasha's. There is no way to purchase that.
I'm just reporting on the bug, really. I know that this will take some time to fix, as it has been noted on the megathread.

If you have not purchased Tasha’s, then you have not purchased access to any of the Optional Class Features. It has nothing to do with access to the spell, it has everything to do with not having access to any of the options published exclusively in Tasha’s. That isn’t a bug.
And no, we cannot purchase just the Class Feature Options from Tasha’s, which really, really sucks. The only way to currently gain access to any of those options is to purchase the entire book.

Wait, what!? Well that's terrible and it doesn't even make sense. Really hope they change that because I, and I know many others as well, only buy the content that I need or want and usually don't care about the book itself cause my DM already has it physically.
On the “Home” tab of the character builder, the toggle next to “Optional Class Features” needs to be on (red, to the right). Then, on the “Class” tab, you have to view the sub tab for the options and check the box that adds those spells.
Thanks for this. I really appreciate it.
I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to get Blessed Strike and other TCE things for my Cleric.
I would like to add my voice to this discussion, please add an option where I can purchase the specific spells for certain optional class lists. I own the book physically and would only like to have specific spells added to D&D beyond for my character sheet.

You can already purchase spells individually. In the marketplace, click on the book the spell is found in. Scroll down and you will find individual purchase options. If the spell has been published more than once, it can generally be purchased individually from the page for the book where it was first published.

No I get it, it's not that I don't have the spell or that I cannot find it, rather it is because it does not show up under the proper spell list. I have the spell in D&D beyond and it shows that it is purchased, but it does not appear on the wizard list, because it was an optional spell added with Tasha's. The optional feature is what does not show up, not that the spell doesn't exist in my inventory.

Ah. Thanks for the clarification, sorry I missed that piece initially. The optional class (or race) features are only accessible if you purchased all of Tasha’s here, unfortunately, which it sounds like you know already. A work around, since you own the spell in question, is to copy the spell in the homebrew editor and add wizard to the list of classes it is available for.

That book is contained within the PHB. Have you purchased that book, or at least that spell from this website?

I have the same problem as well. Do you know the solution? I have the Sourcebook collection, but no additional spells show up.
