So I created a homebrew race and selected the "has subrace" options. I made said subraces with no issue but my parent race has the following bug:
This Race cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
This homebrew Race has been set to have subraces, but no subraces have been created.
Remember, private homebrew is automatically shared with other users in your campaigns and does not need to be shared with the community for players to access.
I am not sure what the issue is. I checked the set up and it shows the subrace. In addition, I looked at the subrace pages on my homebrew creation list and it does not report issues but states that the parent race is the one I created. I am not sure what my next steps are.
After you add the subraces you have to re-save the whole thing using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under “Basic Information.” That’s the only time it checks compliances like that.
Friendly tip, you don’t have to publish for your group to use your homebrews. If you publish a race, and then you need to edit something, you can’t. You have to “create new version” of it to edit, and then republish it. Unfortunately, if the race has subraces, they don’t stay attached to the race when you hit “create new version.” It’s a pain in the neck.
