I am very new to D&D Beyond, having only actually been using it for a couple of months, and I have a question / issue with something that I'd like to get clarified.
When I start a new character, I get a Preferences screen. On the Preferences screen are several on/off 'buttons / switches', but there isn't something that says specifically which way those buttons need to be in order to 'on/off'.
I'd like to suggest that something be put on the page so that 'we' can know which way to have those 'switches' in order to be 'right' in our preferences.
Please see attached screen snips for my examples. I hope they come over :)
If a switch is Red/ to the right then the thing is enabled. If it is grey/to the left it is disabled.
If you don't understand what is being toggled in certain places, IE if what the preference tells you you are effecting you don't understand what they mean when they say "Display and highlight available spells to cast at higher level spell slots" That isn't something that can be more clearly defined without presenting an example to the user and an example to the user would clutter the preference screen. You can also toggle the show help text when you create a character to get some additional information.
If you look at the pic I linked to, you will see the specifics I pointed out.
On the page it has the toggles, but it doesn't actually state on the page anywhere which way is Enabled (or Allowed).
Not trying to be dense, but there should be something on the page that says 'Left (or gray) is (Allowed or Disabled), Right (or Red) is (Allowed or Disabled)', whichever the option should be.
Actually the text above the sliders says 'allow or restrict' but doesn't say which way the toggle needs to be. That's what I'm saying. Do you toggle 'right' for On or for Restrict'?
I got that, Rapier, I was just adding what other people have pointed out, which is that the two don't match, so you can't say 'oh, it says allow first, then restrict, so allow must be to the left.' People have assumed in the past that there's a correlation.
Greetings.

I am unsure of what you are asking for.

Hi... sorry if I wasn't very clear.

Thank you.
Gotcha, Yeah I totally agree. Even if on the slider it said on or off on it as well as a color thing because some of us are severely colorblind.

Also the sliders SAY on/off ('allow/restrict') but the toggle itself is off/on.

I answered that eariler.
If it is Red(Right) it is enabled if it is grey(left) it is disabled.
It is not a toggle to restrict the content it is a toggle to allow the content.

Thank you all for your answers, I didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't appreciate them... I did.
I know I'm not always the brightest bulb in the box but there are some time where I need something a little more clear :)
It doesn't help the confusion when the sliders are set to allow 'Magic: The Gathering Content' and 'Eberron Content' as 'default' :D
Thanks again, have a great week :)
