While true, the snippets should be atleast accurate, even if they're missing detail.
Melee weapons lacking the Finesse property are exclusively strength-based weapons. Finesse weapons are both strength weapons and dexterity weapons.
Therefore, all melee weapons are STR weapons.
The issue is the non snippet actual in-book rule makes it so you only get the benefit when making strength based attacks. Using a finesse weapon, with dexterity does not get the benefit, despite that the weapon can be used with strength.

On a character sheet with barbarian, under the rage mechanic, there is the text
"You gain advantage on STR checks and saving throws (not attacks), +2 melee damage with STR weapons"
"STR weapons" is an inaccurate short description
This should be "STR based attacks" or simply "Str Attacks"
There is no such thing as a STR weapon as weapons do not have attribute scores
