I am experiencing the same problem with other sources and monsters and looking for the same information. Only thing I can think is to delete the app and fully redownload it.
Try going to My Account > My Content and removing and reinstalling the book from there.You can remove an installed book from your device by tapping on it in the My Content view.
I’m having the same problem. Volo’s, Monster Manual. I think a couple others. It only happens with monsters. Or, if I search for a monster (in one of those sources), I just get a blank screen. It’s not an app crash, because I can continue using it. And I can open the source directly and manually flip to the correct “page”.
I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading the books, and the app. In both cases, it doesn’t work.
I’ve tested, and it’s happening with all classes and races, and random monsters (I can open aboleth, but not aarakokra). Used to only be monsters.
bumping this thread. This is happening to me now for Eberron things. I can see Artificer in the list, but when I click on it, I get "Failed to load. The Error has been logged. You may need to update". I have not bought Artificer yet, but typically this takes you to the Marketplace screen.
When I try to load something like Warforged (which I own via Warfarer's Guide to Eberron), I get "Failed to load Warforged. The error has been logged. You may need to update Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron"
I've logged out, logged back in. Download new Manifest, Reset source licenses, even reinstalled the app and redownloaded the sources. Doesn't work.
This problem fixed itself for me recently after changing to a new version of iOS and then again when I switched to a new phone. Haven’t had the problem since. This certainly isn’t a useful fix for most but might point to a solution.

As I understand it, reinstalling the app doesn’t actually sync the library. You have to do something different. Don’t ask me what, we’re an Apple family and as a general rule I distrust apps.
When trying to view the Mind Flayer Psion, I get an error:
Error
Failed to load Mind Flayer Psion. The error has been logged. You may need to update Volo's Guide to Monsters.
How do I update a compendium? How can I solve this problem?

I can't find the Goliath sub-races while building a character from this guide
There are no Goliath subraces.
