Whenever I use search for something simple that I know is in the PHB, of DMG Rick and Morty are always number 1, WHY!!! You don't even sell it anymore and I assume that the rules are the same. It makes search almost unusable at times. If you can not change the order, perhaps a filter that lets us select the sourcebook we want to search, that would be Amazing!
It isn't a source filter that is needed to remove the endless scroll problem, the search "algorithm" (I hesitate to use that term for the ctrl+f bot they use) needs to display results by relevance.
If our search term is the title of a rule section, THAT is the result we wanted. Not all 80 variants of monsters that have the same 6 descriptions copy and pasted in them where the word happened to be used once in a sentence. If the search algorithm was even approaching competent, no one would be asking for source filters because the search results would only let them know there are additional rules for what they are searching for in other sources as like the 5th or later result (which is honestly useful to know IMO).
I hesitate to agree to remove Rick and Morty from the search results, because a slight difference of wording compared to the PHB was the only reason I actually found the rule I was looking for (search "hiding" and experience my pain).

Search has been awful for a long time. It's one of those things they've said they're working on for years but no change ever happens.
The most frustrating bit about it is that the mobile app is great for searching. A lot better, at least, than the website.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.
I don't know if this is because this post or otherwise, but Rick and Morty are gone!
I had also asked that Rick and Morty be removed from the Search results back in June. I get where you're coming from 😅. However, I think it's been removed because the license to use the Rick and Morty brand has expired, not because they're tuning up the search function. But what do I know? 😄

It would be nice however if the Basic Rules were the default #1 search result followed by the core three.

And it probably would with a proper search algorithm instead of a circa 1980 database lookup tool they are using now.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
Well that's good to know!

Yes, R&M was delisted. Anyone that owns the content can still use it. But no more buying it and no more new prints of the physical book.
I, for instance, don't own it and my searches reflect this. i wonder what it looks like for someone that does own the book.
They still show in my search results.
