I have a character I created in the D&D Beyond character builder who recently acquired a Ring of Protection. I added the ring to the characters equipment list and marked it as "In Use". When I look at the character sheet though, I am not seeing the benefits appearing for having the ring - the AC does not change and there is no indication of the saving throw modifier.
When I click on "Ring of Protection" in the equipment list it says 'requires attunement'. How do I attune to the ring? The character sheet has a place in the equipment list for attuned magic items but I can't seem to find how to add the ring to the list.
Under the <INVENTORY> tab in the character sheet, make sure you have the item equipped. Under the Inventory tab, there is the <ATTUNEMENT> section button, click on that, and select which of your equipped items to attune to.
I figured it out although I would not call it intuitive.
To attune the ring, I needed to click on the "View Character Sheet" button on the "What's Next" page then click on inventory followed by clicking on "ring of protection" in the list. This opens a frame that has an attune button
Because it isn't broken. It is an item that requires attunement there are two different ways you can do that; from the item itself, or the Attunement section of the Inventory. It can't show up on the Attunement section as an option until you have equipped it first.
Yes, but it doesn't show up in the builder section, only in the graphical/interactive D&D Beyond Character Sheet. Not everyone utilizes that aspect.
Also, after printing out a character for play last night (20th level) all my skill checks that should have been +11 showed +1 and a lot of other errors cropped up. Apparently WotC hasn't fixed a lot of the issues with DDB, hopefully they do when they introduce the 2024 PHB.
Yeah, it is a bummer that export has always been a bit buggy in one way or another. On the question of attunement, the Ring of Protection works exactly as intended on the site at least. Crossing my fingers for you on the 2024 rules.

Why hasn't this been fixed yet in all these years?
