I love the builder but I would like the option to export my character sheets into the official character sheet format, especially if I've purchased the relevant compendium.
I'd also welcome suggestions from anyone who has a fast way to import the data from the Builder sheet to other formats.
You can export the sheet in a PDF format. Click on your Avatar, then Export.
Right - maybe layout is a better word to use here.
When I export my sheet from the D&D Beyond Builder, the result is a character sheet with the D&D Beyond layout. It includes extra bits like Action descriptors for Dodge, Spells, etc, plus a few other things that makes it a little too crowded for my taste. The Compendiums I've purchased come with specific sheets with a different format/layout, and I'd like the option to export into a sheet with one of those layouts instead of the default D&D Beyond layout.
Right now I'm getting around this with a drawn-out process where I 1. Export the sheet from D&D Beyond to a PDF 2. Export the form data from that PDF to a CSV file 3. Apply a crazy set of HLOOKUP formulas to match the data from D&D Beyond layout to the Official layout (since the form field titles are different) 4. Import the resulting data into the Official layout 5. Manually check the proficiencies boxes by hand and organize all the notes and backstory properly, then make sure nothing was missed
Having a quick Sheets option in the Builder would be leagues better. [Sorry, I had to figure out how to quote you there - deleted my unlinked reply]
Is there any chance the character sheet will ever scale properly on an iPad Pro (10.5 and 11)to fit the entire character sheet content onto the screen without having to scroll up and down constantly. On the larger iPad Pro the page fits perfectly, but it’s not so elegant on the smaller models.
On the other hand, I use an iPad Pro and wish the sheet would allow you to have the fixed sidebar. This could be achieved if the Pro could switch to the slightly more compact tablet format.
As a workaround if you split screen your iPad Pro you get the compact tablet layout.

Not quite what I was after but that is still a useful layout, thanks!
Any chance the character background tables from Xanathar’s can be added to the Backstory section for those that own the book? Similarly, can the racial tables from Mordenkainen’s be included for those that own the book?
Could the Inspiration checkbox be a toggle that more clearly shows if the character has Inspiration or has spent Inspiration? Sure, the sun is pretty, but in the mobile layout the Inspiration box is just highlighted or not, but it seems up to the table to decide what either of them means.
I noticed on the Character sheet, that my healing spells as a Life Domain Cleric do not reflect the 2 + Spell Level bonus to healing I get for any spell. Cure Wounds still only shows 1d8+3 (my WIS mod is +3). Is there anything in the works to have the sheet account for class features like Disciple of Life?

I was playing the other day and I realized that since I brought my ipad my character sheet was scaled down. I would like to suggest that when a device scales down the sheet, that the Saving throws are presented somewhere on the combat screen. It is kind of annoying to be in a fight, done planning your next move with the appropriate combat rolls up and now you have to make a saving throw. If the internet is decent it may not impact the momentum of the combat. Just a suggestion.
I would like to have the option to NOT scale the sheet into the different sections. I'd like to be able to view the entire sheet no matter my screen size. I can then ZOOM in with my device if I need to make something larger.

We appreciate the feedback, but unfortunately this is not as simple as it seems. Multiple screen resolutions across multiple devices is complex, and scaling with those variables to display the entire sheet even more so. We also need to control the experience to a degree to make sure it is consistent to minimize confusion.
We will keep an eye on feedback concerning the "tablet" layout (which is less than 1024 pixels wide but greater than something like 460 pixels wide) and tweak if needed - scaling down the entire sheet to 500 pixels wide would be unreadable, and then we would create new problems where complaints would come in wondering why everything is so small (we already received several such complaints early on and have since fixed it).
It would be helpful if there was a "Customize Other" option under both Defenses and Conditions to track things like elven immunity to magic sleep and advantage against being charmed (Defenses), and "cursed by lycanthropy" or "diseased by plague" (Conditions).

Thanks for the reply. I've played around with resolutions, and I understand some of the limitations of responsive design. I'd love to have the option to lock into "desktop" type view (currently greater than 1024) with a tablet, but have all the boxes sized proportionally. I can currently force a script so that I see the 1024+ view, but the boxes overlap, since they have a set size per resolution.
I have several tablets, but the one I am concerned with at the moment is a Fire HD 8 (7th gen) which should have a resolution of 1280 x 800 IPS. However that is evidently not the resolution you receive from it. I think the responsive design sees my resolution as 800x1280 and sends that unless I specify, even if the table is in landscape.
If I script anything at 1024+, I get the desktop type view, with overlapping boxes. If I set the resolution to less than 1024, I get the tablet type view.
The Elven immunity to sleep/advantage against being charmed is listed under “Savng throws”
Because that's usually where you want it, when someone casts a charm spell or sleep.
So by that logic, shouldn't the whole Defenses section be under Saving Throws?
No. Because you don't look at taking throws when someone is targeting AC is when you look for damage resistance. Though, there is a case for keeping them adjacent.

I'm mot entirely sure what you try to say, but as far as I know resistance to damage types can affect both attacks targeting AC and making a saving throw - if I have resistance to fire, for example, it counts both against firebolt and fireball.
If you are trying to say that it doesn't alter the roll for the saving throw, well, it doesn't matter for the AC either.
On the other hand, keeping these separate means that whenever you are targeted, you need to keep at least two places open, or in some edge cases like Ice Knife that targets both ac and have you make a save, and has two different type of damage, three sections (ac, saves, resistances). Not toention the exhausted condition for saves, that does not put the disadvantage marker when you have enough levels of it.

Why is it that only the Grave Domain cleric has dedicated Class Features tab for Domain Spells (1st level) in the Character Builder (2.Class page)? All cleric domains get Domain Spells, why is the Grave Domain so special?

I am one with the Force. The Force is with me.
Can I ask why on the Character Build there is no Drow in the elfs.
I assume you did not unlock the drow by buying PHB (or at least the drow race from it); since it's not part of the OGL.

Not at this time.
