Could someone please check the ritual spell checkbox for Detect Magic? I was confused to see it not being a ritual spell anymore, and was wondering if they decided to change that in the new rules. But it seems that was just an oversight when the spell was implemented for the new Core Rules in D&D Beyond. Appreciate your work, thank you!

It not showing in the builder is not due to it not being a ritual, just a design choice by the devs for the builder. Or because, as in your high elf case, the ritual tag is irrelevant.

I found the issue. The Detect Magic spell granted by the High Elf lineage, doesn't show the ritual tag.
This is likely because in the 2014 rules, it wasn't possible to cast spells as rituals without a specific class feature that enabled it, so a spell granted by a species feature like that wasn't necessarily eligible for ritual casting unless you had a spellcasting class. The 2024 rules have changed this such that ritual casting is now a fundamental part of the spellcasting rules and anyone can do it, but D&D Beyond apparently hasn't implemented that properly.

Then it would still beg the question, why it doesn't show in the character builder or the character sheet.
