I worked out that the icon after a monster's name (an "L" in a hexagon) means that it has a legendary ability, but what about the A in a triangle after an item's name, or the R on the book icon for a spell, or the C in the diamond for its duration?
These should either have tooltips or be explained as footnotes on the page that describes the item/spell.
Thanks guys - can see the Rs and Cs when I use the advanced spell filter, and while I can see the attunement option in the item filter it doesn't show the icon (doesn't show the legendary icon for monsters either).
Adding a tooltip or even just showing all icons on the filters would make it clearer - and the icons should definitely be added to the relevant part of the items or spell rules sections.

I agree with this and I've already stated that R icon for ritual spells does not show up large enough for me to even see it is an R even on my widescreen desktop. Yeh, for being one of the old farts here! Not that I hit 50 yet, but closing in. ;) Icons are cool, but we really need to know what is and be able to read the letter on it.

Hi! I'm new to D&D and using D&D Beyond, and I had to google to find out what those things meant. It would still be useful to add tooltips, or a legend, or something! It would also be great if there were descriptions of the conditions you can put on yourself (e.g. restrained) so you don't have to open a separate window to look up restrained.
Unfortunately if you're reading on a mobile device, there are no tool tips. And nor do the concentration spells state concentration in the description any more, only the icon denotes it.
This app is awesome so I'm probably missing something obvious- what tag/search/whatever do I enter (and where) to get a list of all the ritual spells? I tried entering ritual in the "spell tags" field to no effect. What am I missing?

When searching for spells, select "All Spells" at the top, then open the Advanced Filters immediately below. Change the Ritual field to 'Yes.' This will show all Ritual spells.

Attunement, ritual, and concentration. But yes a tool tip would be very useful.
A = Requires Attunement, R = Ritual, and C = Concentration
they are marked in the filter options. I agree that's probably not the most obvious place to look.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - we never intended for this to be the final state and will be working on adding clarity over the next few weeks.

Is there any plan to address this?
Conditions are tool tipped in most places. Can you provide a more specific example?

Is there any update on improving this? As Geztyr noted, its especially bad on mobile devices as there are no tool tips.
All that is needed is a separate section that acts as a legend for all of these symbols.
Bump
Still not addressed, it seems, because I'm here from Googling it.

Sorry, found it under spells/advance filters.
Thanks for this info. Seems they still haven't addressed this issue. :-/
What does the half-filled circle on the character sheet under skills mean?
half-proficiency

Thank you, I've made a bunch of characters before but haven't seen it before, and am about to dm my first campaign.
So.... about that clarity?
