Issue: I have a request related to Homebrew Monsters. As you can see here, https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/620996-goblin-tunnel, I'm trying to build an object that summons other monsters as a "monster" to be able to add it to the encounter builder. But! Since it's an inanimate object, it doesn't really make sense for it to have a normal stat block, and many things that are required for the Homebrew monster creator simply don't make sense for this "monster".
Request: My ideal solution would be to add another option to the "Monster Type" dropdown menu named "Object", then have sub-types for each of the different Object types from the DM's Guide, https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dmg/running-the-game#Objects. From this already established rule set the AC and HP could be imported directly to the Homebrew creator, and the irrelevant stats could be unmarked as required.
I would love a digital DM screen. I'm basically running my game from my laptop using D&D Beyond. My screen is basically in the way. I don't care abot hiding my dice rolls, but the information on the screen is handy. I would gladly pay for a digital screen.
I love everything about D&D Beyond. You guys have done, and continue to do a great job.

I would love for there to be an option to put the character image chosen for a character portrait into the character appearance block when I print out my character sheet. Right now I have to manually load my character sheet into a pdf editing program and insert the image to do this. If the portrait thumbnail automatically showed up in that box or there were any other option to add an image into it that would be great.
I would love it if the trinkets were selectable as “other items” in a drop down like the rest of the equipment.
Trinkets have no item descriptions. They have no place under equipment. Just like the small knife, or the soldier's signet, or anything like that.
The small knife, the signet ring, and anything like that get listed under “other possessions” on the character sheet. As I said, I wish there was a drop down menu under “add other possessions” that includes the trinkets so one does not have to manually type in something like: “An empty wine bottle bearing a pretty label that says, ‘The Wizard of Wines Winery, Red Dragon Crush, 331422-W’” or “A wooden box with a ceramic bottom that holds a living worm with a head on each end of its body.”

Oh. That would be interesting.
I would also expect a way to add custom trinkets like the ones from Xhanathar's Lost Notes.
I would love it if the trinkets were selectable as “other items” in a drop down like the rest of the equipment.
you can do this now, just takes a little work. create a custom background and you can put whatever custom items you want in an 'or' list. look at the Acolyte background as an example.

I frequently use trinkets found on NPCs and in hoards as useful stuff, plot points, clues, and macguffins. You’re solution doesn’t help when they get them in game.

What about just making it a construct?
I tried that, but it doesn't remove the requirements for things that just wouldn't make sense for an object. Ie, an INT/WIS/CHA score, passive perception, etc.

Just set everything to 10 and ignore that stuff.
That's what I did as a workaround, but it would be a nice feature for when they expand the Homebrew builder.
I know it's on the roadmap as a future/maybe thing, but I just wanted to voice my desire for a public API. There are a lot of talented developers in the community who would volunteer their free time to build some amazing utility apps to temporarily cover features that DDB doesn't have yet or to integrate DDB with other software suites. Personally, I would love to be able to access the digital content I've paid for by providing my credentials through an API, then using that data in my own applications for managing campaigns and characters.
Plus, such n API would almost assuredly turn competitors into value-drivers, as they would be able to provide official content through DDB integration.

So far this session, I have killed three pets, four teammates, and only hit the enemy once, and my fire bolt didn't work against a creature immune to fire. Trust me, you NEVER want to borrow my character or my dice.
