Didn't they say about a month ago that Phase 2 was only weeks away? Both on Twitter and on Dragon Talk I believe...
No set date was ever given, for this reason. Be patient. Phase 2 will be upon you sooner than you realize.
My guess it will be announced during the Stream of Annihilation. Probably will be released that day maybe?
Just to get it out of the way for everyone - Phase 2 will not be simultaneously released with the Stream of Annihilation, although I will confirm a release window on the stream.
We've also got a couple of other cool surprises to announce there...I encourage everyone to tune in for all kinds of great things for D&D!
I appreciate the direct response. I do still get a sense of "the data entry is taking longer than anticipated" but that's reasonable. The reasons listed are all valid. If the point was to just make the information accessible more than expecting it to take this long to work out the kinks, I find that understandable. It bothered me that I hadn't seen them spelled out up to this point. There seemed to be a lack of transparency, which I always find disconcerting. Your response helped. Thank you

@BadEye replied to me!
Thanks for the info. I will catch what I can from work (but I bet it will be blocked).

I agree. It is definitely scary when something you are excited about seems to be taking too long. This brings back fears of past games/products that made promises and never delivered.
Talking to us reminds us that you are people just doing the best you can, working at a job, and being able to only do so much. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. We don't need to know each step you take, but letting us know that something is taking longer than expected and why let's us take the journey with you.
Keep the hard work going guys. I look forward to a complete and amazing product.... We'll what I'm really looking forward to is a tool and place where I can have many great adventures with my players and my fellow D&D geeks.

That I can understand since some monsters are open licensed. I'll definitely be trying it out with my gaming sessions as DM. Either way I look forward to playing with it and then using the final product
As for Phase 3, it is actually as close (if not closer) to done as the builder and the sheet. In fact, we could have conceivably released what's in Phase 3 before we release Phase 2. The problem is, homebrew and campaign management (in its first iteration) won't be as valuable without the integration with character management coming from the second phase.
I'm bringing this up mainly to assure the community that the wait for Phase 3 once Phase 2 hits will without a doubt be significantly shorter than the wait between the first two phases. We will move from Phase 3 to launch (where everyone will be able to finally move beyond the Basic Rules/ SRD content) quickly after.
This makes me happy :)

Thank you for your post - we appreciate people taking the time to give us feedback.
During the beta test of D&D Beyond, we'll only be including content that is freely available from Wizards of the Coast, including the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion and potentially others. The beta will not include additional content from a Commercially Released Book, Module or Supplement.
All of the remaining published content from the PHB, DMG, MM and other D&D 5th edition books will be added to D&D Beyond for product release - the cost for accessing this material has not yet been announced.

So if I'm understanding this correctly. Those of us that have already bought the physical books must purchase them AGAIN in order to access them on D&D Beyond...on top of a subscription. I don't see that playing out well.

Right, but you'd still be paying for the same information AGAIN, just to be able to access it on D&D Beyond. I get why it's happening, I'm just saying it really sucks for those of us that have already given WoTC so much of our money that we have to give them even more just to access the EXACT SAME information we already have, just for the convince of an online compendium. It'd be one thing if it were like $10 or something, but lets face it, it's most likely going to be another $50 EACH.

Checks calendar.

Why only 2 feats in the compendium?

The compendium is restricted to the SRD information.

No, you have the opportunity to buy the digital copy of any book with a one-time payment, without subscription.
Subscription is for other features (see Dragon+ interview).
Physical book and digital book have the same content but are not the same product.
I think Beyond is a great tool so far. looking forward to seeing how the next two phases enhance the first.
