I noticed when i select a Cleric and choose either Life or War Domain I do not get the heavy armor proficiency as listed in the PHB - has there been an errata update I am unaware of?
I am unable to reproduce this error. They show for me on the character builder (see screenshots) as well as under the Armor proficiencies on the sheet.
Would you be able to link me to the affected character? I can take a look and see if anything else is a-miss that might be causing you this issue.

My life domain cleric has heavy armor proficiency.
Check to make sure you’re not using a home brew subclass named Life/War cleric. It’s happened to a few people.

i am having the same issue i have a life domain cleric and when i put heavy armor my speed is decreased by 10 ft
encumbrance is enable but shouldnt apply as i am firbolg and only have 70lbs in my pack
Please post a link to your character. My guess insufficient strength for the armor chosen.
