This might be a suggestion/wish for developers to add custom/homebrew non-magical equipment to our campaigns.
For example: I would like to add brass knuckles, let's say 1d4 dmg, and I believe it would stack with unarmed strikes; however, currently I can't find a way to do it.
If there already is an option to do this, I would be glad to read it!

The magic item homebrew just creates an item. You can certainly use it to make an item that does what you want. It'll be categorised as a magic item on here but you can just describe it non-magical in the description and in the campaign.
As for other mundane items: you can create custom items right from the sheet in your inventory - click add custom item, then edit it to describe it, add gold and weight value and notes.
So I'm not sure if this is the same topic, but I am looking to just add an extra dice roll to my weapon. I have a macro in Roll20 but I don't see why I can't just edit a Warhammer with an extra D6. The situation is that I have Troll-Bane which is 1d8+3 of damage but then has an extra 1d6 of poison damage, I feel like it should be quite simple to add an extra roll to the item through here.

This is doable using a homebrew weapon, by simply adding the die damage to the modifier list. It simply will not affect the roller on the character sheet. Hope this helps.
I've created a number of "Wonderuous items" because I cannot create mundane items (gear). Unfortunately that also means they do not have a cost...
Eg. being able to create commonly used items/material spell components with a price already listed. Either because it is a material spell component which has known cost, or because it is something 'simple' that is nice for people to simply be able to add. Perhaps a scarf, emblem or other identifying marker, which would be nice to be able to add an image to.
Uses include:
"Marked bones" for Augury (25gp)
"Jeweled horn" for Clairvoyance (100 gp)
"Glass eye" for Clairvoyance (100 gp)
"Key" because it is a thing people need to carry and put in bags
"Diamond for Raise Dead" (500 gp, I created this as a Scroll, so it can stack)
"Diamonds for Revivify" (300 gp, also as scroll)
"Diamond dust for Greater Restoration" (100 gp, also as scroll)
"Offering for Divination" (25 gp, also as scroll)
Perhaps a way of defining something as a 'gem' would also be useful. I'm invisioning a gem pouch with a lot of search-options, but that is probably over-kill.

2 years ago, Cyb3rM1nd described the steps to add custom items that would be perfect for this.
The solution proposed allows you to make an item on a character.
My problem came when one player in game transferred the item to another player, and removed it from their character.
Because it was custom created on that character sheet, it was gone. We no longer had any record of what the item was, and how it was configured beyond our recollections of it when trying to add it to the other person's sheet.
If we could create a custom mundane item like we can create a monster, magic item, subclass, etc. then we could add it to the character, remove it, search for it and add it again...
Did the player they transferred it to delete it as well? and did they not save it into their homebrew creations?
I have taken stuff on and off my sheet that is still in my collections. Maybe they can still find it?
Custom items and homebrew items are different things. I custom item exists only an a sheet where it is added, but using the “add custom item” option. It is not saved anywhere else. Homebrew, however, gets saved in “my collections.”
oh get you. yeah i have always created an item in the creation page then added it to my inventory. not for any reason, just how i happen to have done it
Because it was not a magic item creating it as a home brew item seemed like a waste. We just wanted to record it on the character sheet. A bit of description, a bit of crunch. The player that had it was new, and did not realize the difference between a home brew item and a custom item. They just assumed it could be added like all the other items. So they deleted it.
Hi, I just recently started playing and trying to add to my equipment the ring of holden (or something similar) to show it's active but I can't. Any help?
I’m not familiar with this ring and didn’t find it as a magic item. So the first question is what is it? Is it a piece oh non-magic jewelry, or an enchanted ring. The way you deal with it is different based on the answer. If it is a magic item step 1 is to add it to D&D Beyond. click on collections, then Create a magic item on the right. If it is similar to an existing item of any sort then I advise selecting that item as a base, then editing it to meet your concept. For example if it lets you store things like a bag of holding or a handy haversack start with that, then change it to a ring. when using the “create a” features I will often have 2-3 tabs open where I am copying attributes from different things to see how they work. Once you have created the magic item return to the character sheet, select the inventory tab and click the Manage inventory button. Enter Holder in the search field and it will come up.
If it is not a magic item then you face the complaint of this thread. You can not create a mundane item that everyone can just select using Manage Inventory. I can’t add skis, for example, to the equipment list as an option to select. But you could add them individually to each character as a custom item. This means that every time you will be entering the name, cost, weight and notes
To add a custom item go to Inventory, Manage inventory, click custom item, and fill in the details. If you want this to be something available to others record the details somewhere else (a document file, a Roll20 note, a campaign page in Obsidian Portal or the like). If that custom item is ever removed from that character sheet then it will no longer exist anywhere.

Homebrew weapons and armor is planned, but not for near future.
For your brass knuckles, have you considered using a club and renaming it? I can't think of any way it would be mechanically different.
Even the weight is about right as Brass is heavy, I would just increase the cost of the weapon due to them not just being a stick or such.

Can you add it under global modifier and just click it on when you are in the situation?
The books have far more types of poison than those listed in the equipment section, it looks like only four of them are there.
I have used "Wonderous Items" to add mundane equipment to my campaign, but there is limits to what I can do there.
I would much prefer an option to add custom "gear"
