One of the main reasons I pay a subscription is to have unlimited character slots because I like to write and make characters for fun. Not having folders/groups/tags/any way to really organize them is a *huge* flaw in Beyond and it seems like it'd be fairly simple to implement as there have been browser add-ons that added this functionality in the past.
It seems like a small feature, but man it would make things so much easier.
Here to agree with what's been suggested. Would be nice to be able to organize characters into various folders. I've got a ton, and some characters have been used in different campaigns so I have to really pay attention to the campaign line to ensure I'm opening the right one. Additionally, I pay for unlimited characters so it would be great to be able to "archive" old characters that I don't want to delete, but don't currently use. Being able to create folders would accomplish this easily.
If people really want folders, as a temporary solution until they actually give us folders, people can use My Campaigns as a way to organize characters. My Campaigns is already a place where you store folders of characters, it is just that those folders are labelled as campaigns.
I would like to see this to. I'm planning on upgrading to a paid Dnd subscription so I'm not worried about how many characters I make, and would love a way to sort them.
What I would really love? Some sort of comment to the extent that they Are or Are Not thinking of doing this. Ever since they were purchased by wizards of the coast is seems that they stopped working on this sort of thing...
Bump again. Folders would be very helpful and greatly reduce the amount of time looking for one in the mix. Even a active/non-active option would be wonderful.
Yes, and I would like to be able to add characters I have already created into NEW CAMPAIGNS. Currently, I see NO way to add a existing character from my list of current characters into a NEWly made campaign. If there is a way... please advise. Thanks!

-On the campaign page, copy the invite link
-paste the invite link into a brower's url tab and hit return
-this should take you to a page that lets you choose from your characters to add
In all seriousness though, given the fact that we have the option to make unlimited characters, and people generally do a lot of characters. Not being able to categorize them is an affront.
It is absolutely insane to me that this isn’t a thing lol. I can create folders for bookmarks in the app… Why not for characters?! At least give us a retired/archive folder so we can clean up old unused characters!
lol... I love that this thread STILL gets traffic because this feature STILL hasn't been implemented. I've not looked around for one in a while, but there used to be a browser add-on that brought better character management to the site. Maybe there's someone out there with a Tamper Monkey script or something that could make it kinda-sorta-work while the dev team continues to investigate how to create a hierarchical data structure.
I was hoping to find some positive news in this thread about some kind of response after more than 4 years but unfortunately still nothing. The amount of characters I have have started to pile up and it's becoming more and more difficult to find the correct one. I really hope they give us this feature soon because it would be a massive improvement for quality of life.

Folders for characters would be fantastic! I have different characters fit for different campaigns and I would like to sort them.

Need this ASAP come on WotC
Sad to see this request is years old with no work being done to solve the issue
Also here to bump this issue. It is a constant problem for me and fellow players not to be able to organize the characters.

Just googled to see if it was possible to make folders to keep characters in, stunned to find out YOU CANNOT ?!?
This should be the number 1 item on the developers list of things to do.

Absolutely wild that this isn't a thing yet.
Insert meme: WE'RE WAITING!

Adding another voice to this request. It would make finding and grouping characters infinitely easier.
