Please make this happen! Folders would be so helpful!
If you do not mind a work around, My Campaigns is technically already a folder system for characters. While My Campaigns is more tailored for organizing campaigns, you can repurpose it to organize characters too.
To create more distinction and separate campaigns for organizing characters and campaigns for actual campaigns, you can put "0000" or "ZZZZ" or something similar in front of campaign names for organizing characters, depending on whether you want character folders to appear before or after actual campaigns.
I tried once to drum up support for the community for this. There are loads of threads out there with other people begging for this feature. I commented on many of them, trying to point them to this thread to try and get more visibility. Since I used copy/paste one of our venerable community mods dinged me for spam then lovingly went and removed all of my posts. So not only is getting attention to this thread been difficult, avenues to assist visibility have been shut down by the moderators keeping us all safe from spammers like me.
What I can tell you, is that I'm no longer a paying customer of D&D Beyond. I don't know what they're doing, or what they're working with, but this is like a 2 day project for a BAD developer. Taking care of some low-hanging fruit to improve QoL for existing customers should be considered.
I’m really surprised they haven’t addressed this too! Instead, they put focus on making sure Darkvision min/max works out right, and pronouns are correct in the text lol.
This is a SUPER simple QoL addition to implement, and it should have been there DAY 1! With all the money I have spent on this site (I literally own it all) I think things I want should at least be looked into.
it’s a folder system… that’s it! I’ve been able to do that since Windows 95, people!
Yeah, I need to add my voice to the request to get this feature! Please dndbeyond, implement a folder system to organise our character and NPCs. You finally made it with the container system in the inventory! It's "almost" the same thing! :D
I have been waiting for this feature for long time now and I have given up hope that any improvement is even on the horizan for that at all.
Also campaign managment is basicly just a single text document... Same with homebrew items. It's just a big list and doesn't eveh remember my filters so I have to go back and sort everytime I search or something.
Let me set preferences at least and save them as cookies or what not.

Yes and no. Campaign management features: organised showcase of character sheets for accessibility, public text field, DM only notes only field, easier integration with the Encounter Builder.

You can already do this yourself using any browser. Just save as bookmark. Now you can go to that filtered list whenever you want, instantly.
I personally don't see the need for D&D Beyond to have to make the effort to code up something that every browser can already do more efficiently (as with bookmarks you can create multiple ones for different things and create folders for different or alternative preferences). Seems like a waste of time they could better spend on things that are necessary and lacking. 🤷♂️

Well that’s ok if you don’t need it but would very much see improvements there. I don’t want to use workarounds or have many different tabs open or bookmarked. As a master tier subscriber I would like that they develop such things on the site.
Also basic things like a sword with fire damage can’t be rolled in the sheet. It is not that uncommon to have items like that.
The general feature system, which they constantly advertise as the next big thing that makes everything better, that should have come out end of last year, has been pushed back because of other priorities. What other things could be more important than the feature they have been talking about for more than over a year and branded as the big improvement to the site?
Don’t get me wrong. I like the site and have all my stuff here, so I spent hundreds of dollars already and probably will continue to do but for me some things are definitely lacking.
I do hope they improve and maybe even manage to finish a feature or two in the coming months and I am talking about bigger features like rolling every dice expression and roll tables throughout the site and stuff like that,
DnDBeyond is the best I've found for making 5e NPCs quickly and easily, especially caster classes. I would love a folder system for my characters, beyond dumping them into a "campaign".
Hoping this inplemented with the updates to the My Characters page. Glad to know so many people are clamoring for it and it's not just me. This is why I Google stuff first.

Similar... whether you call them folders or something else, just a simple way to organize characters. I am thinking of it like this... just something simple.
How did you make that?
And, this has been requested for a long time, it might even be in development. I sure hope so.
Another year, still no folder system to organise characters and homebrew. Not even for subscribers who can have dozens of characters. At least they added sorting like 3 years after they first mentioned developing it.
In the meantime, I find a good way to sort them is to sort by alphabetical and use prefixes bound in [square brackets]. Leave any characters in active campaigns with no prefix as square brackets are ordered after z. That way, active characters are bumped to the top regardless of their name.
Eg. 8 characters and 2 npc sheets would be ordered like this.
Character 5 Character 6 [Dead] Character 1 [Dead] Character 3 [Old] Character 2 [Old] Character 4 [NPC] NPC 1 [NPC] NPC 2 [Spare] Character 7 [Spare] Character 8

This! I have so many joke characters or characters from old campaigns that would be so nice to organize.
This would be amazing! Even add an extra step to be able to customize the sections to your liking and it would be exactly what I want.
I’m in a few different campaigns and have a ton of concepts I’d kill for this!
Please make this happen! Folders would be so helpful!
Can we please get someone from D&D Beyond to officially respond to this? At least comment on whether or not this is in the works...
Please?
The thread has been open for two years with no response. You have an answer if its being worked on.

Would absolutely love to see this get implemented. Having a ton of character sheets becomes a pain when I only need three of them at a time.
How did you make that?
And, this has been requested for a long time, it might even be in development. I sure hope so.
It pronounced Den Sake. It is not Japanese.
Website character sheet not working fix (Hopefully)
Semi-Expert at homebrew, just ask for my help.
In paint.net (poor man's photoshop, lol). I just took a screen cap and blocked it up how I wanted.
