as cantrips gained from racial traits function as normal cantrips (unlike higher level racial spells), could we have them added to the spells know list?
this would make it easier to remember you have them available when quickly scanning your spells list.
the warlock pact of the tome cantrips are already added over into the list of spells know, so i imagine it isn't beyond, the D&D Beyond team's ability, to add the racial cantrips as well.
anyway, love what you guys have built here and look forward to what lies ahead.
Hey Paradox42, this issue you have with this approach is one, that it could get confusing if the cantrip from the race comes from the spell list from another class. For example the High Elf comes from the Wizard list and if you are a warlock then one that cartrip may not be known by warlocks and seconds that cantrip uses WIS were all the others use CHA which again could make things confusing.
Second, what happens to the cantrip when a character decides to multiclass with 2 spell casters, in which class should the cantrip be put into?
I do agree that when left at the bottom under racial traits it can be easy to miss, especially when a spell list starts to get really long. However i also think due to the above reasons it can get confusing if you stick it in with the class spells as well
My suggestion is to mark all cantrips as attacks in the customisation section of each spell, then all cantrips will be listed under attacks with their bonuses next to them, and you wont miss the racial cantrip when they are grouped together in this way
yeah having a closer look at the interface, i see that it is per class and race for each list.
i like your idea for the cantrips, but how about taking it to the next level :P
how about a combined spell list for all spells (including single use/day racial spells), above the class and race lists. and have their usage tracked back in the individual class/race lists. this combined list would have each spells bonuses calculated individually.
of course I'm only talking about the digital character sheet and not the exported version. this way the different lists can be collapsed to make using them easier.
