I shared a link with my DM to a character I had just created and I happened to click on my own link when I noticed the Description and Notes tabs are missing.
That’s not a bug. That’s so Players can keep stuff about their PCs secret. It’s more dramatic when you can roleplay your character telling their origin story around a campfire late at night than if people can just read it.
Hrmn. I've never really thought of that. I need to have my DM be able to see it... and I've never really given access to other players to my character sheet. Thought that would be like a hands off thing and done by exactly what you suggested.. through roleplay and such. But for the DM?
If you are I. The same campaign the DM can see it. If you just send it the system has no idea they are the DM. Your DM should send you an invite link to their campaign on DDB and when you join, select that character. Your DM will be able to read it even if you set it to private.

The only tabs available are:
Dungeon Master & Player
D&D Beyond Legendary Bundle & Master Tier Subscriber
I reject your reality and substitute it with my own!
