The devs have been working on different projects. Most recently they are working on combat tracker, dice roller, and implementing optional rules.
The devs don't have much of anything to do with books getting released, they just have to make sure the compendiums are readable and the content works on character sheets when WotC decides to release a new book.
They're not milking on books. Books are wotc timeline not there's
..I'd love to see a more pushed force to fix those issues.. so you can show how good the main service is (character sheets).. which would draw more subs probably better than gimmick things (dice) .. lol
You can create a new magic item if you want to just add dice to the damage and select weapon XY as base weapon.
The problem is that when u change the die with homebrew it doesn't change on the sheet. e.g. if you want to create a 2d8 greatsword, it still reads as 2d6 base damage on the character sheet, so the only way to make one is use longsword, add a damage die & the two handed property.
About a week ago I spent 4 hours trying to make a three-kreen chaktcha display right before giving up.
(My granddaddy always said, "try, try again. Then give up, no sense being a dang fool about it.")

It's been said time and again, but here we go. The team behind D&DB is not going to roll out a patch or temporary fix for things like this. They have a complete overhaul in the works and it's going to take as long as it had to. I'm sure that's not the answer some people want, but it's the reality. If you're not ok with that I would recommend a different online medium in lieu of beating your head against the wall.

This problem has persisted since 2017. Why no fix?
