My computer has a 27" 4k screen and if I have the character sheet open, there's a lot of wasted space.
The layout doesn't reach the bottom of the screen and even with the the sidebar, there's a lot of empty space on the sides.
No idea how complicated this would be, or how niche this is, but I have some ideas on how to make use this space, for those that might want to.
Variable width sidebar: There could be a setting that determines the scale of the sidebar. By scale I mean the proportion of space to the side of the sheet. Preferably, I'd like this to be able to utilize the areas of both margins.
Double sidebar: an option to have sidebars on both sides of the sheet. I'd imagine that one side is the primary sidebar and the other is the secondary sidebar, where the primary has a button to send it to the secondary. That way, you could, for example, open a concentration spell in the secondary bar (as both reminder and reference) and look at other stuff in the primary.
In fact, I'd like these options on regular HD screens as well.
Any thought from the devs? Or other players?

Perhaps use the rest of the screen for something else, rather than having a maximised browser window? :-)
Sure, that's also an option, though in combination with a VTT, I'd rather switch desktops and using that window to display the info I'd like to see in the sidebars wastes even more space, not to mention being far more unwieldy to navigate. And I'd still like to be able to make more use of the screen space on hd screens. I get why the sheet is the width it is, but to me those remaining margins just feel like such a waste when the sidebar is narrow enough that there are plenty of things that don't display quite right. Now that'd be a price I'm more than willing to pay if it means that I could have two items showing at the same time.
But maybe I'm alone in wanting information dense displays :(

I don't see how that would be an issue, mobile sized windows already have their own layout/behaviour.

I'm with @TauraOhtar, there is a lot of waisted space on the left of any "sheets" or "text" on the website.
I agree. Just having it all aligned lest to you could keep the pop up pane open without overlap with help.
