I need to discontinue use of my old account associated with my personal gmail account. Is there a way to transfer the book that bought there to my new account?
On the top-right of any page click your username and then click accounts. You will see the list of your current actively linked logins. Presumably your GMail is one. If you still have access to that: you can create one of the other logins, such as Twitch, Discord or an Apple account. Create one, if you don't have one already and link it. When linked, you can unlick/change the linked GMail account to update it.
Your D&D Beyond account will then be linked to your new Gmail account. Or don't bother and use the other logins instead - you only need to use 1 of the 4, and it can be anyone. As long as you have 1 you can discontinue the others if needed. This is why there are multiple logins available: so you can remove or discontinue one without losing access to your account and the content purchased with it.
The entire process is a few minutes, you keep everything and no need for a new account and having to have everything transferred.

I already set up a second account and started using it. I have one book on my old account/gmail. I keep getting an error that my new email is already linked to an account, so I am unable to link it. Is there anyway to shut down an old account and get the book purchased into my new account?
Hi there.
I need to discontinue use of my old account associated with my personal gmail account. Is there a way to transfer the book that bought there to my new account?
Thanks for any help.
There is no need to.

If you want to change the username of your D&D Beyond account make a post in this thread: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/65846-display-name-change-request-thread-v2 If you do the mods will issue you a name change thing and you can use that. Instructions and details are in the initial post.
