I know this is an old post but im new to D&D and after buying the starter pack physical i have a query on the noble fighters AC... on the pre gen sheet his AC is 17... he has chainmail so 16 but where does the other point come from... his dex modifier is -1 so it doesnt count i believe... He has no shield... Am i just not getting it...
EDIT:... Never mind... Found it 5 minutes after i posted... Fighter gets +1 while wearing Armour... Sorry...
Thanks, @Kenarable and, @chunderbunny for taking the time to spell this process out. It is very helpful for many like myself who are new to the D&D Beyond system.
I looked around for the same for the Pre-Gen Characters in "Hunt for the Thessalhydra" I see that D&D Beyond provides the PDF links, but I can't seem to find steps to create them into the system. Is anyone aware of the steps to build these Pre-Gens?
I know it's an old post, but the topic is still valid for new players (or returning players like me).
I guess the character creation process has changed a bit since this first posts in this thread, but with a bit of fiddling the recipes from @chunderbunny (thanks alot) is still valid.
It's now possible to change the starting equipment (like the wizards short shord for example) to match the pregen characters exactly.
I also copy-pasted the trait, ideal, bond, flaw and background from the PDFs into the respective fields on the character sheets.
Still not possible to share (other than view only) characters though :(
The links for Starter edition characters does not work anymore :( can someone repost them? I am beginner and would love to have same characters here in D&D Beyond as on Starter set
I don’t know about new links, it if you go to Collections>my characters>create a character, you have an option for Premade characters. All of the starter set characters are there. Note that there are some slight differences between the pregens in the two different starter sets. The half king rogue, at least is from the original 5e starter set that includes the Phandalin adventure.
