Rogues, full stop. Maybe they multiclass into something but I've always been a sneaky thief type on all videogames I play, whenever that kind of playstyle is available.
Definitely Wizard. My first character was a Wizard, and I love the utility and versatility they have. That being said, I also enjoy playing Rogue and Bard, for similar reasons.
The only classes I've outright disliked playing are the Monk and Warlock. Monk because of a lack of useful abilities, and Warlock because I just wasn't playing them right and because I prefer playing casters that can use more than 2 slots before resting.
I am yet to play a Blood Hunter, Druid, or Ranger. The nature theme doesn't really appeal to me but I know they have some fun mechanics.
I have been big martial arts guy for many a years. So monk has been great fun, being a challenge to consider strike combos and how to explain it so others can imagine it.
When I started using monk (my primary class for most my dnd experience) the imagery and styles in tutorial videos/articles always depicked the same seen on popular media. Although I have had fun role playing the classical monk, exploring new methods have been more rewarding. For example, my characters' history revolve around Muy Thai (ong bak inspired), bare knuckle boxing (priest or laborer), and professional wrestling (traveling circus member).
I do branch out to other classes but rely on monk the most.
Definitely Warlock. It's the single most modular class in the game. Artificer comes a close second for similar reasons.
Yeah, the subclass/invocations/boon combination in warlock is really good. Makes me wish that all classes had that sort of secondary customization. I mean casters get to pick their spells sure, but it'd be nice for something like invocations and boons for all classes imo.

This is definitely a reason warlocks are awesome. I kind of wish I hadn't played a warlock for my first class for this very reason though lol.
bloodhunter was my first dnd class and my introduction to DND 5E. kinda upset its the lowest with sorcerer second.
I think bloodhunter ranks low because it's not an official class so a lot of people have never played it. Sorcerers are really strong and I've been having a ton of fun with my Aberrant Mind. I think people just don't like having so few spells known.
Wizard all the way for me! The elven mage always seeking out even more magical secrets has always been the ideal fantasy archetype for me, and adding the bladesinger subclass has taken that up to 11.

3.5 tomb of battle swordsage hands down best class.
Then I have an issue with 5e I like monk but the class is just the worst. Then you have paladins I really liked them it is just you are really restricted on your smite at early levels and your casting is kind of bland and massively limited to the point that I either cast spells or smite hmph. Finally, we have cleric full caster fun not my favorite, but I like to feel relevant knowing that at a certain point a players character's life can be in my hand; do I res the rouge who stole my gold or do I loot his corps decisions, decisions.
Cleric is my favorite 5e class only because of how bad monk is.
I also love d̶̡̼̥̻͙̣̼̿͂͐͘ę̴̢̨̛̼̙̤̻̞̠̗̳̝̦̹̹̦͍̉̏͛̽͠͠sţ̵̢̼̹̭̖͔͎̞̪͇͚̞̇̀̇̀̒͂̇̍͊̏ru̸̮̭̪̠͆̑̍́̈́̑̾̒̑̂̕ͅc̶̢̜͓̮̩͎͕̄́͑̃̈͋̈͌̑̽͠ͅͅţ̵̢̼̹̭̖͔͎̞̪͇͚̞̇̀̇̀̒͂̇̍͊̏io̵̪̭̞̗̝͙̝̬̥͕̒ͅn̸̨͖̳͓͍̜̬̗̪̜̪̗̺͆̏̆̊́̈́̿̎̅̈͠͝͝ in my campaigns! In other words, i'm an evil DM.
I wish this poll would get more interaction. I always find this kind of information interesting.
Edit: I selected Warlock because I love the Eldritch Invocations mechanic and general themes.
Definitely Warlock. The invocations are pretty cool and as a DM, if a player gets too far off track, the patron has the ability to nudge them back on to the adventure's path. The invocations are great because where all classes get a special ability every so often, Warlocks get a special ability package every so often and most are just like racial abilities where they become the character.
Clerics are my favorite. In any game, I prefer the support role with buffs and healing. I also like them thematically. There is a lot of RP potential built in, with infinite possibilities for character concepts. Mechanically they do have some things I'm not entirely in love with, but they're functional.
Druids are a close second. They're similar to clerics, but add in a nature theme that I also really like. Turning into animals is always fun too.
Third is probably Ranger, for the same reasons.
Wizards, Fighters, Monks, Warlocks, and Paladins all have themes that appeal to me, just not quite as much. I'm really drawn to classes more for their flavor than their mechanics. Mechanics can always be fixed.
Artificers, Barbarians, Rogues, and Sorcerers can all inspire some cool ideas, but I don't tend to pick them nearly as often.
Bards do nothing for me at all. I can imagine a few concepts that I could use to try to make them bearable, but the fantasy just isn't for me overall.
Blood Hunter's theme is a big turn off to me personally too. I get why they appeal to some people. But I doubt I would ever play one.

I can't really think of that many unique character concepts with the Cleric, aside from "holy dude who wants you to convert". I really like the Cleric mechanically, but I find it difficult to detach them from their most archetypal depiction. Might you have some interesting ideas?
I opted for Druid due to the versatility and near un-killable nature of the Archdruid, especially if they go Moon. Ongoing change to Elemental form every time you get bopped out of it, able to cast any spell not requiring a cost material in form is great stuff. Not to say other classes don't get some awesome perks and such, too, but for MY taste, Archdruid is simply awesomeness.
For what's been most fun for me so far is my Monk though. More the personality I gave him than anything, but in combat situations, as an Open Hand, I have a lot of options open and playing with the different things I can do to mess with my enemies is lots of fun.

In my opinion, the Paladin is the best. I love the fact that you're a warrior and can also cast magic at the same time!
