There was someone NOT affiliated with D&D Beyond who made an app in the Play store that was literally just a web browser "wrapper" for the D&D Beyond site. In other words, that unofficial app was creating an instance of a browser window that loaded the full version of the DDB site.
I am many others reported them to Google Play for being a fake, and hopefully it has been taken down.
If you want access the the full DDB site in a mobile version on your phone, just use chrome.
If you want offline access, you will have to use the official DDB Beta app.

You don't OWN your books on DDB: WotC can change them any time. What do you think will happen when OneD&D comes out?
I thought I was going crazy! And I hope the app comes back, it worked well and I loved it. Why the hell does Wizards of the Coast not made it into an app themselves? Their official app is pretty useless for basically anyone who already plays D&D.

The official app is out and as it's been mentioned - is in Beta. We are still developing and adding additional features. Right now the app will allow people to access the compendium views of purchased books and allow for offline access. Additional functionality (like searching the listings like on the website - spells, monsters, etc. and also character sheet viewing) will be added later on.

Conzania, the so-called "app" that the OP is referring to was NOT in any way affiliated with DDB or WotC, and was in fact not even a real app. The developer of that "app" made something called a "wrapper" that shows you a mobile web site and makes it seem like you're looking at an app. Basically that developer made a wrapper that showed the DDB mobile web site, so of you liked it, just open your mobile web browser and do to www.dndbeyond.com.
The only official app for DDB is the one currently in beta. I've been testing/using it since alpha and is great, but understand that it is at the moment just an e-reader for the books.
If you want to see your character sheets, go to the DDB web site in your mobile browser.

So yeah, make yourself a home screen shortcut to the mobile site and it’s really not much different to that wrapper app. Even better if you can use a browser that you rarely use for anything but Beyond.
I have to agree that for most people who i have talked to the ability to access and build/veiw characters is the primary function that people want out of the phone app for dnd beyond including myself as a dm. looking forward to it if it can be added :)

It will be added, hopefully soon. It's the main thing they're working on with the app currently.

It seems like they want to focus on the website version first and get that to where they really want it and then take that and work it into the app. It would be a waist of time to code in a old character sheet/builder into the app for them to have to recode a new one in. It saves time and money for them in the long run I think

The D&D beyond app is the only official app.
For all of the desktop functionality on your tablet, you can access the site via your browser, as D&D Beyond is well optimised for mobile devices. :)

Thanks, yes it is very intuitive, but what happened with the "Beyond" app?

I'd suggest adding a webpage shortcut to your home screen. Works great on iOS too.
That was the app that I wastalking about, I didn´t know that it was fake, thanks for the info

Yeah I would like to see a character creation function on the app that updates with each book you buy.
